Are there any left? I will be at one year on March 15th. I've had some rough spots but I am keeping with it. My natural hair reaches to my ears, earlobes, or chin depending on the section of hair. I am anxious to see where I will be in another year. I think once I get close to the third year, I will really start to think about what I want to do. I tend to go through a bad phase every 6 months or so and I am slowly bouncing back from my recent one.
Any others out there?

. I am glad that your hair is working for you. I am also planning to transition for a long while...I am nearing the four-month mark and so far so good.

I am sure that there are some other long-time transitioners on this board

Congradulations on reaching your one year Hairlove. I think that I will have a year in July. I don't have anymore relaxed ends.

It will be one year for me in June. So far, I have about 6 inches of new growth when wet.

I have no plans for a "big chop" since I am experiencing very little breakage (thanks to the wonderful advice on here) and to the coconut milk/lime juice "straightener".

Hairlove, I just made my first yr transitioning--so has my daughter. It has been rough but I'm dealing w/ it. I plan to cut my relaxed ends off in the summer since school will be out and if I don't like my hair right then, I will be braiding it.

98.99% of time in a bun, or protective style with a jaw clamp/clip. I've only once done a braid out, and once done a wash-n-go.

My one year anniversary was in February, and I'm loving my natural texture! I've regained the thickness that I lost through overprocessing from dyes and relaxers. My hair has grown ALOT. I think the key to transitioning is treating all your hair like it's natural as soon as you decide to grow it out. This means taking time to treat it gently, moisturize it well, and try to avoid a lot of heat. I slick my hair back with gel and Moisture Max hair lotion during the week and sometimes flat iron it on the weekends. So far, I've experienced no breakage, only growth. I've even been trimming my ends once every 6-8 weeks. Keep up the good work transitioners!

Congrats Hairlove (your hair is very beautiful)and the other transitioners

I plan to transition in the future once I reach my hair goal.

i'll have one year in June- about 1 week ago i had my hair measured i'm at 3.5 inches of natural curly fro- i didn't transition i just did the big chop in june of 03. I started my vitamin regime last month and upgraded along the way so we will see how it goes- stay stron gand positive- I refuse to go back to that creamy crack. I love my hair and look forward to new goals and length with it. Let's grow together.
