Tryna get some more fullness in my ends but considering all the set backs of 2008(crazy hard water causing UNBELIEVABLE shedding, allergic reaction and breaking to new conditioner, and lately, way overprocessed hair), I'm pleased with my progress.

U got some really good growth I would agree a little protein and some protective styling can help with over process but REMEMBER.. keep up with protein/moisture balance! GREAT GROWING!!! HHG!

thanks ya'll and I've used the aphogee 2 step like 2x but it was way too much for my hair. I just bought the lighter version (weekly) and hopefully itll make my tresses stronger.... any other ways to sneak protein into my hair? and for the moisture I usually cowash 1x a week (its winter yall) and I moisterize everynight (usually with the olive oil hair moisterizer but now elasta mango butter and seal with either coconut oil, or olive oil. I didnt bring either home with me and I;ve been using my mom john freida frizz ease to seal and its going good

Maybe you'll have to get protein internally.

Are you doing anything about the hard water?

Since you have fine hair you should definitely keep it up with the protein, just make sure you follow up with a moisturizing conditioner, or mix it with one, and you'll be fine. Also, how long are you stretching your relaxers? Have you been doing a medium-hard protein treatment the week before you relax, and a light one the week after? These techniques should help your hair to thicken up (I'm trying to stick to them myself!). You have gotten a lot of growth though, you should be proud of yourself regardless! :yep:

I was stuck working in fort wayne indiana for 2 weeks. It was summer so I was cowashing every other day. on the third cowash, my hair just came out in big chunks. it literately made me sick. it was alll over the hotel room, my shower, my clothes. It wasnt just me though, my coworkers (including 2 asians, who have very strong and unprocessed hair) complained about their hair falling out while we were there. i researched and found out that where we were had notoriously hard water (from an Indian womens hair forum similar to this one) and I did an apple cider rinse and used only bottled water to wash my hair while out ther

really? thats good information to have. So i could do the aphogee hard one before my next relaxer and the weekly one the wash after? And I've been going 3 months for the last year. The last relaxer I only made it 10.5 weeks before getting it done. I dk if Imma stretch past 8-9 from now on though because this last stretch was expecially hard for me... mostly bc I have a new boo and I was tryna be cute which is kinda hard when u got inches of new growth and ur anti direct heat like I am. I've been watching lorraintips rollerset tutorial on youtube (if she's on here hey!!!) so hopefully I'll be better at rollersetting soon and can get my ends to be full!

Wow! what a huge difference! You hair has gotten so thick and beautiful! congrats! Your old hair looks exactly like how my hair was also, it was longer on the sides and it was short and broken in the back/middle. I found it was due to the relaxer process. the bottom middle is the first place where my relaxer is applied and by leaving it on so long to complete the relaxing process..., it caused breakage. By stretching and demanding that my stylist relax my hair in 9mins flat and from top to bottom (instead of bottom to top), now i don't have that middle breakage anymore.

Happy growing!!!

9 mins flat including application? I don't think i could do top to bottom bc my front relaxes really quickly and its usually my middle that "doesn't take" (I actualy have no clue as I've never seen it done nor have I relaxed myself) but r u bone straight or texlaxed? I wanna get a time frame for when the relaxer should be washed out for me to have not quite bone str8 hair.

thanks!

You definitely had growth. Have you considered a water filter or using bottled distilled water to wash your hair in the interim.
