One centimeter a month...

I measured my hair and I have had braids approx. a month and this is how much new growth I have...so that means' that I am only getting 5 inches(approx) a year...oh well...that means I am definitely not trimming unless it is a necessity...

6 inches per year is supposed to be the average but a great deal of people get alot less than this anyway. 5 inches is good.

thanks CH...I keep reading about ladies having 1-2 inches a month, so I didn't realize how much an inch of hair is until this morning...as long as I keep all 5 inches I am happy..

I have about the same growth pattern as you. I relax only twice a year and I usually have about 3 inches of new growth each time. I wouldn't worry about it. The most important thing is that you retain the length so that you see the growth.
