Hi ladies! You are all my hair heroes! Everyone here has beautiful heads of hair. I love this site, and have been lurking for more than a year only posting a few times. Thanks for all the information and help that you gals dont even know you've given me! :)

Ok, so i'm thinking about dying my hair black, but i'm a little scared. I know perminates are a no-go (been there done that, broke my hair off), so i'm considering a rinse or a henna. Right now, my natural hair is dark brown with little subtle natural highlights in the front and at my temples. I want to go black right now, but not if i cant go back to my natural color in the future. SOOOOOOOOO.... is it possible to go black (by way of henna or rinse) and later if i choose, i dont know, "wash" or lift the black dye out so that i get my natural color back without damaging it? If so, how do i "go back"? Thanks ladies! :) :) :)

I don't really know about henna, but to answer your question about once you go black, can you ever go back?

The answer is yes (well atleast for me). And it is much harder to go back without damaging your hair. I like to change it up but being relaxed and coming off of dark black is a challenge. During the summer I would like a lighter color, like a brown and I know that is difficult.

So moral of the story is make sure you really really want the color. Because once you go black, it's hard turning back. (Processing reasons=damage if you can't keep up with it).

Good luck!!:)

I like a lot of colors and black is beautiful. My hairdresser trys to stay away from Black though, she says it takes to much to lift it to a lighter color. So I would diffinitely only get it if I didnt want to go light for awhile (like until it grows out):D
