Yes I use one. I have been using it for a year. Mainly no lye and I just switched to lye.

When I was using the normal, parts of my hair didnt get straight.

I have very coarse hair, it's like wire to be honest.

Overall, I do try to take good care of my hair. Moisturizing daily, DC weekly, stretching...

So what do you think about it??

I think it might do more harm than good in the long run...the higher ph and everything like that scares me. I guess my only question is how straight are you trying to get your hair? Do you want it to be bone bone bone straight? I have coarse hair as well and my stylist uses a mild lye relaxer on my hair to get it straight. Maybe some of the other ladies can chime in with this

I used to use super until I found my Phyto II. My hair has NEVER done well with a relaxers and I have tried them all except for Phyto.

I didn't even think about Phyto I as my hair would have :lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen:!

I don't see why not. How much higher in ph is super than mild? One brands regular might be another ones super.

Either way I use a Super lye relaxer and my hair is quite healthy.

The higher PH scares me as well. I have been having lots of dryness for the past 6 months or so and I wondering if this is why.

I don't want bone bone straight hair. That would worry me.

I dont mind if it's not bone straight. I just dont want to relax and still look like I need a relaxer.

I can't imagine a mild relaxer working on me. If it did I'd be happy though.

Are you textlaxed? If so, that could be a reason your hair is healthier.

The thing with ph's is that if a mild has a ph of 10 and the super has a ph of 14. It's not that the super is 4 level higher. Between each ph there might be a different of 100 or 1000. So a ph of 14 might be 1000X stronger than the ph of 13. Sorry if it sounds confusing but I cant really explain it properly.

One more thing. I add SAA and either olive oil or Jojoba oil to the relaxer mix. 'Cause, as I am sure you know, it takes forever to part my hair to apply the relaxer and adding these gives me more time.

No, super is NOT a nono with some extra stuff added to the mix.

When I do my relaxers, it is pretty much an all day affair. I can post my relaxer regime if you like (although it is not perfect :look:)

^^only because i like my hair bone straight. if u don't like the flat bone straight look..i wouldn't suggest it. im weird..i love the flat look:lol:

It's fine to use super. The strength of relaxer you use is determined by the type and texture of your hair and what you're trying to achieve. If your hair is coarse and resistant (hard to straighten) then you should use super. Afterall that's the only way you would get the straight hair.
