I finally applied MTG tonight. Needless to say, my head is on fire?(my entire Head)

Is this normal? Or am I having some sort of a reaction?

The more I rubbed it in the more intense the irritation was.

Do you mix it? with what? IS THIS NORMAL?

My recommendation is to wash your hair immediately. You must be having an allergic reaction to some ingredient in the product.

have you been surging? some people who used surge had irritation. rinse or wash immediately and then try again in a day or so in a small test area.

I agree, I've been using it for the past 3 months and have not experienced burning...

Never burned for me. Either I agree wash your hair immediately

I tried mine for the first time tonight also...no burning.

You may be allergic to the sulfur in it or it may be too strong for you, I would rinse it out immediately.

I had this problem with one batch of the sulfur oil mix I made. I was trying something different with the ingredients and it burned a little when I applied it. I immediately mixed in black castor oil, which is what I used in my previous mixtures because it is a heavy oil.

I woudl wash out right away. I have not experienced this. I did however read that some surge users experienced some burning when mixing the two. Dont take a chance, wash it out!

No Delp, your hair is not on fire. MTG is an antifungal product, and it when applied to our hair, it literally "medicates" all the fungal areas of our head. You may even notice tiny spots where skin come up. Don't be alarmed by this, MTG is just working it's magic. Think of MTG as a "deep cleansing agent" that goes below the skins surface and removes the "impurities" (i.e. fungus, dermatitis, etc.).

I do want to warn you though. Since your skin seems somewhat sensitive to MTG, ALWAYS ALWAYS wrap a towel around you neck and shoulders. After I started using MTG, I didn't know this, and for two and a half weeks, my skin had flaked, ed, peeled, and I had to "heal" it (it's just completely going away now-- four weeks later). It was very uncomfortable. Be careful. Sorry for the long reply, but this is important info to know.

I do agree that it is antifungal however it should probably only tingle, not burn.. if it burns like that you should probably wash it out like the other ladies say.

I've never used MTG, but I have had really bad allergic reactions to sulfur hair products that I would describe exactly the same way....felt like my head was on fire!!!! I agree with the other ladies.....wash it out ASAP!!!! You may want to consult with a Dermatologist before using the MTG again. He/she can do a patch test (usually on the skin on the inside of your arm), to see if you have sulfur allergies.

I had a similar experience. I wouldn't say it was on fire, but I had certain areas that tingled/slightly burned. I had been applying too much I think because when I cut back on the amount and the frequency, I no longer had that problem. I had been doing it everyday after my shower, and I think I was a little heavyhanded with it. Now I do it twice a week with not so much. I've been using the color applicator bottle some of the ladies suggested. HTH

thanks for all the replys. I do have dermatitis. The reason I wanted to use it was for growth and I heard the product contain zinc which is good for dermatitis. because I do have such a sensitive scalp i usually always have abrasions on my scalp. this could be the cause of the burning?

Did anyone sensitive scalp condition improve after using MTG.

The burning did stop on it's own but it took a couple of hours. I will give it one more try.

FYI - My hands were on fire when I first applied MTG to my scalp! I mean they burned constantly and would feel very hard, like a rawhide for days. The funny thing is my scalp was just fine. I actually started a thread on this too. Now I use rubber gloves (the kind I use for cleaning) whenever I apply MTG.

I would consider not using MTG if this is the reaction you're getting. My scalp got these huge bumps and peeled with Surge and I immediately stopped using it when I noticed them.

Good luck!
