Omg! My Hair Refuses To Relax!

TRANSITION OVER! 11-22-14
I was determined to relax my hair fully because I thought one side looked straiter than the other. I was concerned because I had texturized my hair a month ago. I know...bad! bad! :hammer: : Anyhow, I chose Realistic, the only lye relaxer left on the shelf in the CVS store that was close to me. I prepped my hair w/ leave in cond. to avoid excessive damage. I kid u not, this relaxer was so mild, it didn't even tingle! My hair is nicely texturized now, very wavy and low maintainace- wash n go, w/ waves, not curls. If u are looking for a mild formula, this is it! I had the relaxer in my hair for 20 min. and washed it out. I could've left it in longer, but it wouldn't have made a difference! :lachen: I'm satisfied w/ my results because I really didn't want to relax my hair fully.

Congrats!!! So are you happy with the outcome then? Do you know the relaxer timing for your touch-ups? make sure you do strand tests before hand to ensure the correct texture you currently have now. do regular conditioning, moisturise to prevent your hair from drying out.

Your hair sounds like mine. I attempted a touch-up/corrective for the second time because the product I had been using just seemed to be wearing off. I used the "coarse" version of the same product and initially, it seemed that it made absolutely no difference. But now a few days into it, my texture does seem looser, and noticeably so, so I will either stick with this or try the Phytorelaxer Index 1 next go-round. In the meantime, I will probably wear lots of protective styles until my next touch-up in about 2-3 months.

Yeah, some people say revlon realistic (lye) is harsh, but it still leaves a curl pattern in my hair too. That's the case whether I use Regular or Super for 25 or 30 minutes. My hair won't get straight with it and I don't want it to be straight anyway.

Hi Den: So you are transitioning back to natural? You have been a very brave girl. I loved your natural hair and that is my goal to have thick beautiful natural hair like yours was. Thank you for sharing so honestly with all of us. I have decided to stay natural because the truth is I like the full and crinkly look and because mine is very fine stranded, if I relaxed I would look just sleek and thin I think. You really do grow some beautifulhair though so no matter what you do, it's tight! Bonjour.

Hi Mahalialee, i'm transitioing to natural, not because i hate the texturized look, but my textures are all over the place, from going to different stylists. My hair grows quite fast, I'm pretty certain that next dec 2006 i'll have tons of natural hair. If anything i would have hoped to stay texturized, i'm going back/forth on the idea, but for now i'm transitioning, i'm still taking care of my hair and i am going to keep the length too, so don't be surprise if you see waist length blow-out pics in the next few months. Mahalialee, stay natural, because your hair is more healthier that way, thanks for the compliments.

My hair would not relax for nothin' also. Then later on i took it as a sign to stop relaxing and just go natural

I tried the natural thing, but I know I can't handle my hair natural. I couldn't even handle my twa.... :nono: I'm texturized now and probably will stay that way until I find a good lye relaxer that will straiten my hair. Any suggestions on which one will be appreciated. I can'r get affirm bc I'm not a professional.

you can also get it at www.sheldeez.com

HTH!

I'm glad you like your results. Sections of my hair won't relax which leaves me with Texlaxed hair. :( But I've embraced my hair and work with it accordingly. Again, I'm glad you like your results
