Well I'm just making sure I eat Okra @ least 3x/week. If you steam the Okra it won't be slimy, and doesn't LUSH make a conditioner w Okra in it?

I think someone said on the other post that they had discontinued it. I checked their site and I couldn't find it.

If someone does, please post a link here.

I wondered about what you are talking about. Perhaps other elements of haircare was not practiced (like keeping the hair and ends moisturized) while eating the okra. Okra is a good source of zinc and iron - both important for hair growth and health.

this is exactly what i was thinking, hair care is not one dementional, I think that with proper hair care, okra can help in assisting in the growth of the hair.

I notices some of you were concerned with getting fresh okra, i've stacked up on 4 packs of frozen okra from whole foods, i've been steaming half a pack per day and eating it. frozen is fine because sometimes it's hard to find good fresh okra.

After reading another thread about the benefits of okra yesterday, I bought some, boiled it with carrots and coconut oil, drained it, and applied the thick slime to my hair last night.

I have to admit that I was skeptical at first, but now I am a believer. Of all the products I've purchased to prevent breakage, last night was the first time that I did not lose one single strand of hair after I applied the okra, combed and brushed it with a boar bristle brush.

It was weird because I expected my hair to be gooey, but it wasn't. It's like my hair completely absorbed the okra concoction and my hair was just soft and conditioned.

I think next time, I will not use coconut oil because it was kind of oily, and I think that was from the coconut oil. I will try to find some pure castor oil or pine tar oil next time. I might even add some MSM.

Tonight, I'm having some for dinner.

Hi Okra Challengers, how's it going? I've been faithful, except for 2 days when I had a lot to do. My hair is stronger and seems shinier, to get maximum growth and strenght I added MN to my routine 2 days ago, check my new growth pics in my fotki.

Okra challengers check in, is anyone still on this challenge, I love the results i'm getting, my skin looks better and my hair is shinier, I have to wait till I relax to see how my new growth is, in some areas it's a little over an inch in others like the back and sides it's between 1/4 inch and 3/4 inch.
