I've tried to transition before but I gave in after about 6 months and wanted to perm my hair again. But now, I'm thinking about it again and I may really get serious this time...

Ladies! Please give me any and every tips - everything from good moisturizing products to protective styles and techniques! I'm a spongeeeee I'll soak up anything! :lachen:

I am right here with u... that creamy crack is something serious. If you do decide to transition, congrats on your decision...

I transitioned with braided styles and not long...I BC'd after 6 months so really this is just some encouragement and a nice lil Bump so some others can respond.

Good luck.

Do you know how to cornrow? If not, is there someone who can teach you?

Knowing how to do cornrows is a big life saver for me.

I'm a type 4.

I just big chopped last nite:look:.. Don't know what came over me. But no more creamy crack for me either. Being natural is something I am getting used to every second of the day. But I am glad that I made that decision. I still have some texlax'd pieces throughout but when I find them in the midst of my coils.. snip snip!!

moisture and condition washes is what i think really saved my hair during my transition. Once i got to * about * 6 months i would only comb it when it was wet. At that point i started using curly phony ponies alot

I BC'd last month and right now i'm 14 month post and my hair is in the best conditioner it's ever been in ( minus alittle damage up front that is either heat damage or from my boar bristle brush)

goodluck. Take a look at the transitioner support thread

OT: INNERSOUL WHERE'S YOUR PICS?!!?!?!!!!!!

im transitioning now and i dont find it hard at all. but what i will say is that finding the best moisturizer is the best thing you can do. i went through many and i realized that my hair loves natural products. my hair also loves keracare creme hairdress and hollywood beauty olive oil creme hairdress. and with rollersets every week my hair hardly breaks and thats amazing considering i KEEPS my hands in my hair and dont bun EVER.
