Okay it's update time (PICS)

I've been MIA a good while, and have renewed my subscription recently. A little background on my hair, I'm natural (since 2007) and have been trying to get to BSL FOREVER.

I finished out last year with a Brazilian Blowdry, two dye sessions and LOTS of heat. My hair was rough, dry, and just didn't feel the same. So I cut heat out in December and had a set of Senegalese twists and box braids for Jan-March. I took them out, did an Aphogee two step, DC'd with Tresemme Naturals Vibrantly Smooth, and added some YOU Be Natural Smoothing and Defrizzing Cream ( I LOVE this stuff). Blowdried on medium heat and flat ironed at 410F/210C. The next day I got my stylist to trim and cut my layers back in after they had grown out.

I'm at the tippy tippy top of BSL now, I was a little further in until I got the layers, but I prefer my hair this way. I think the trim was decent considering I hadn't gotten one for about 4 months then abused my hair so much in that time! FroReal I think that hairexia might be creeping back after the trim, I thought I was over it but um :look: .

This first post has the results before trim/layers and bumping:

Enjoy!

Beautiful hair. It looks so healthy and shiny. What's ur Reggie?

pelohello

I wash weekly with Elasta QP Creme Conditioning Shampoo, and DC with Aphogee Two Minute Reconstructor and Tresemme Naturals Vibrantly Smooth with EVOO. When in braids I do the same but without heat and water down the Cantu with Profective MegaGrowth Breakfree in a spray bottle.

I normally airdry in about 5-6 braids with Cantu Shea Butter and EVOO. For straightened styles I do the same but use the You Be Natural leave in I mentioned in the OP and flat iron.

Aw man! Aviah you and your hair are gorgeous! I'm mad you tried to deny us of this wonderfulness!

BTW, you look solidly BSL to me.

Your hair got super straight. What is your hair type?

I know what you mean about the "less snaggy". Thanks, lets me know that I could be on the right track, finally! Your hair is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing. Also, could you tell more about the You Be Natural product?

I love it! Your pics are hair porn! I can't wait until you post another story on "Long Hair Ladies Can I Live Vicariously Through You?" thread.

My hair type is 4a for the majority, and some 3c? on top. I attached some pics below, I'd love to know how to do it the normal way:perplexed.

ETA: Whoa! Sorry it's so big! I don't know how to make it smaller:ohwell:.

I first used it as part of the Brazilian Blowdry Range by Luster's YOU range. Here's the ingredient list:
Deionized Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Polyquaternium-37, Argan Oil (Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil), Phenyl Trimethicone, Panthenol (Provitamin B5), Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Quaternium-80,Tridecyl Stearate, Neopentyl Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Tridecyl Trimellitate, Propylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, PPG-1 Trideceth-6, Propylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Fragrance (Parfum), Linalool, Limonene, Hexyl Cinnamal, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Citronellol, Geraniol, Coumarin

This stuff gives moisture, but is light, and doesn't weight my hair down, and smells so good. It even has Argan oil as the 4th ingredient. Blowdrying with it was quick and helped detangle it, and flat ironing with it left my hair soft with a lot of movement. Seriously will not be flat ironing with anything else:grin:.

I love it! Your pics are hair porn! I can't wait until you post another story on "Long Hair Ladies Can I Live Vicariously Through You?" thread.

I wish I had stories for that thread, but my hair is going to be PS'ed to death this year so it may be a while. With people in that thread being MBL, Waist, Hip... I feel small in there!
