Okay I ripped my hair from my scalp....

All because I wanted to find out my hair type. I took out like five strands, I was only supposed to take out one, but I guess it was worth it. Anyway I know I sound crazed, but I really want to know what hair type I am. I have coils at the top of my hair underneath my hair, and then at the end my strands are not straight but kind of wavy when they airdry. The straightest part of my hair is the section right after the new growth. I have no idea what kind of texture I am. so I put it in here so you can see for yourself. Please tell me what hair type I am.

I'm not an expert at hair typing but I don't think it can be determined by looking at one hair strand. Most of the time people post a picture of their new growth (3 months+). How long has it been since your last relaxer?

It's been at least three months, but I tried to take a shot of my new growth and have been unsuccessful. I saw some hair type thread and they said to look at the strands of hair and the majority of my hair is just like what I ripped out of my head.erplexed

You sound crazy. I am trying to grow long hair not rip it out from scalp.

You may need to wait a good 6-9 months to get a true understand. Be patient you will find out without having to pull your hair out.

There is no need to be yanking hair out of your scalp over something so trivial... Do you really need to know that bad?

Just looked at your fotki, and that's what my hair looks like wet, except I have a few more coils. I probably will wash my hair again on Mon or Tues night so then I can take a wet shot of my hair, but I'm still like 3 months post relaxer so I don't know if that's considered too early to tell your hair type.

From the hair I see, which I know people have hounded you about not tearing hair...so I'm not going there....even though I want to, You're in the 3's it seems C? But you need more growth and to take more pics for accuracy as I'm not sure. don't go ripping, just wait okay?

I don't know either, I know that I can actually see the few strands of hair and focus on the newgrowth, when I'm holding the camera and my new growth and trying to focus all at the same time, that's when it becomes blurry and more of a problem. I don't really need to know that bad, but I would like to know.

Yes, I don't plan on ripping my hair out again anytime soon, it was only five strands, but I really did want to know and I couldn't tell. Thanks for wording it so nicely, I won't rip it out again I promise

Anyways, I dont think I can't tell your type but I can tell that you have a thick texture.
