At this moment, (I say at this moment because I am indecisive and I change my mind a lot). So, at this moment, I have decided to straighten my hair more often. So, I decided to try the maxiglide again. I tried it before when I was transitioning. And I just like the results of my flat iron much better on my relaxed ends. So, I thought I'd give it a second chance now that I'm fully natural. Boy am I glad I did. My hair got relaxer straight. Now, I just need to figure out how to keep it that way. I used Aveda Anti-Humectant, but my hair still poofed; AND I was doing my hair in front of a fan. So, I'll order some SMB and try that next. I have it wrapped now. I just watched a You Tube video where a natural flat ironed, and her hair was still poofy, but she wrapped it and sat under the dryer. So, I'll try that. I'll post pictures in my fotki soon.

The link to that You Tube video is below. I thought it was neat because she basically made her own Maxiglide. :lachen:

I'm not natural but blow dryers of any sort make my hair very poofy. I might try doing this sometime thanks for posting it.

Yeah, I bought it from Linen's N Things just to try it on my natural hair. It will be going back tomorrow and I will be purchasing the new version from HSN.com. I sat under the dryer for about 10 minutes. I can't wait to unwrap my hair and see what it's like.

OFF TOPIC, but man i looove her accent! It's so sexy. LOL.:spinning:

Hey, she's a member here.

I need to add that last step of wrapping and sitting under the dryer to my straightening routine, 'cause I usually get poofy hair.

I loved my Maxiglide too, I say loved because I was losing too much hair in the pins, even though I detangled properly. But I guess I could give it a try again on my next wash. I'm texlaxed now and sometimes my hair just looks like a natural soft press, depending on the weather. I usually straighten with my beloved Sedu, but it's getting old. :ohwell: I don't want to buy a new iron right now. :nono: So I think I'll pull out my MG and see if I can gently straighten my hair, without losing long strands.

Ms_Twana You inspired me with your post girl!

I tried this method last night (well best I could do anyway) and wow.

The sections I used the comb like she did came out so pretty I was in shock.

But I lost my comb and got tired/too hot midway through so I only did the front.

I am absolutely going to invest in a Maxiglide. My hair never gets that straight.

I did the wrap part wrong I realized I don't really know how to wrap my hair properly but I figure I'll get that part down. I didn't quite get swang but it's the closest I've ever gotten.

She's a member here...Stilettos(?).

I love her vids. And she is absolutely gorgeous!

With that said, I'll have to try her method. When I'm done flat-ironing, my hair looks just like hers did the 1st time. I never thought of wrapping it, then sitting under the dryer...:scratchch

Not to be a debbie downer....but DON'T blowdry that way if you are a type 4B. Well at least if you want "relaxer straight hair"

See the way she pointed the blow dryer up? My hair would be a HOT MESS if I did that on my hair type. I use a paddle brush. And if you don't want to use one AT LEAST point the blow dryer down and don't let your hair move around like that.

Now on a positive note...she's very pretty. Not trying to be negative...just want to give tighter hair pattern girls a heads up.

i like how she "made" her maxiglide! that was a cute and usefull technique!

Also, her hair and her accent was cute too!

i wonder what her lhcf screen name is?

Okay, here is a section of my natural, 4a hair after the Maxiglide:

Here is my hair after I was done, and it had poofed up. LOL

And here it is this morning after I wrapped it last night, sat under the dryer for 10 minutes, and kept it wrapped overnight.

Too bad it didn't stay like this. I wasn't 15 minutes from home before I had to put it back in a ponytail. :lachen:

ETA: I have now uploaded all of the pictures to my fotki.

I too love my Maxiglide. Can't use it now in the middle of Summer though...lol. I get the poof's of poof's with my hair, looking like a poodle at a dog show:lachen:
