I recall Honey Lemon Drop saying she has an oil mixture that she spritzes on her ends. I'd like to keep my ends moisturized a lot better than they are and conditioners aren't doing the trick to my satisfaction.

What are all of your tips/tricks & homemade spritzes to keep your ends very moisturized?

I'm very aware of the wonders of the baggy method - i'd like something I can do aside from the baggy method.

Thanks!

I agree w/rai & dlewis this is a good question! My ends are SUPER dry no matter how much I co, hot oil, baby them, etc...they are still dry:( .thanks again for asking this question.

i use castor oil as a preshampoo treatment on my ends and it works great. I also saw on another board (please pardon my spelling)- where they add coconut oil, fungreek and other curry type oils to make it tingly. But anywho castor oil or jamaica black castor oil definitely does the trick for me. Keep in mind that you have to shampoo it out- conditioner won't work.

Where are all the long haired, healthy ends havin' divas that I know frequent this board....especially HoneyLemonDrop and all others!

Please help - we all need this!

Thanks

since I started doing condition washes, frizzy dry ends disappeared. 2x a week I'll add a bit of oil sheen spray.

LAWD!!! Im so sorry, I am just now seeing this post...

The oils that go in my spritzer bottle change from time to time but its base is always distilled water. The oils are sometimes olive, safflower, jojobah, or some other carrier oil. Im sure I have put other things but I cant remember clearly right now.

Also, the other day, I had an itchy scalp and put a few drops of pure peppermint oil in the bottle and sprayed away...it felt sooooo good as I massaged that mixture into my scalp. It was so soothing. I felt like I was easing the itch and stimulating more growth at the same time.

Another thing I keep in my bottle with the mixture (when I have it) is the rest of the leave in treatment from the Cream of Nature relaxer box...I got that from the lady who inspired me to wear buns for two years straight.

What ever I keep in my bottle, I spray my ends, hairline and nape every day, sometimes I'll spray just the distilled water alone especially if I am spraying more than once in a day ...That and protective styles have kept me from split ends and allowed me to go for over a year without a need to trim. I recently trimmed just for evenness.

However, my regimen for the last year or so has been shampooing with Nexxus Botanoil then the Keraphix---every 4 or 5 days Headress and then my oil mixture. I hope this helped.
