Oh my if I had one piece of advise to give to newbies is keep an album. I hadn't looked at my fotki album in a while (looking for a new photo hosting site) but tonight I went on there to look for a picture and started looking at my pictures from 2004. Lord have mercy I didn't have any hair thinking that I was looking good. No only was my hair short but was also damage and looking bad. Some day I feel bad thinking that I'm not making a progress and then I look back to just 2 years ago. Now it has been slow with a few setbacks but looking at my pictures in 2004 and then looking at my 2006 album and even my signature I can say no bad and now I can't wait to get to my goals and more.

So ladies if you don't have an online album get one, it is so nice to be able to look back and see were you have come from.

I wanna get one, but I dont have a digital camera yet, and my camera phone sucks. Plus, I dont know how to set up a fotki and upload pics and all of that stuff. Pretty sad, huh?:ohwell: Maybe Ill get my hubby to help me.

ITA!!!!!!!!!

Creating my album back in January 2006 was THE best thing I could have done. I just love, love, love looking back over my progress. It REALLY keeps you motivated and encouraged, to see how far you've come. Sometimes just looking in the mirror every day isnt enough affirmation that your hair really IS growing. Sometimes you need to actually look at the hard "evidence" via pictures taken over a time period.

Great advice. I second that 100%!!!!

What a coincident. I found some pics in the garage of my college days and it shows my hair going from about healthy APL to raggled neck length and I didn't have it cut. I had no idea it was that bad. I love my fokti too. I'm going to scan those pics and add them.

I can see how this can be uplifting, I am uplifted also from looking at others progress, it also affirms to me that it can be done.

I have taken pics and plan to take more with progress, one of these days I will start a page up the Fotki thing doesn’t work from my MAC so I might have to try it again on another browser.

Since joining this site I pay attention to everyone’s hair like I never did previously, not sure if that’s a good or bad thing, the definite good thing is I have actually started paying attention to my hair and its needs.

pics really does help. I look at pics of my hair once a month because I don't belive it growing. Pics don't lie.

yah, the pictures does help because is it me or what? When I look at my hair from behind in a mirror it seems shorter or something but when I look at my fotki, I can see the progress. I always go and look back at my fotki pictures to compare with my progress.

*off topic* This Hide Hair TiL XMAS Challenge is killing me I want to show my progress SOOOO bad but can't...:ohwell: ....

LadyR- your hair has really grown from when I met you at the DC meeting until now. I think it was over a year ago.

I love taking pictures to track my progress. I can see how much my hair has grown since becoming natural.

For the poster that doesn't have a digital camera, you can still have an album. When you get your pictures developed, have the images put on a cd. You can upload your pictures from your cd to any of the picture sites. I like fotki because I can organize my pictures into albums.
