^^^ gurrrrrl why why why do you hate that salon:drunk:

1. You would think they had a love (or at least like) for "nappy" hair. Well you thought wrong.

2. Fine tooth combs. That's all I have to say.

3. Their favorite styles if you have natural hair are weaves and braids. Done super tight.

4. The stylists talk about peoples hair all the time. "Oh her hair is cutting my hands", "this client's hair was soooooo nappy that....", "she came up in here with that nappy ish on her head"...etc. etc.

5. They will offer you a texturizer over and over and over again for "manageability".

6. It's overpriced.

I'm sure there are more reasons why I hate it, but those are just a few.

I hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate that salon.

Wow - MSA - I did not get a chance to say that first:lachen:

The one time I walked into that place - they kept telling me about all the stars that they serviced....

100.00 an hour for braiding. WHAT?:perplexed That would be about 1000 dollars for me. Hellllllllll no.

And - to top it off..... Every braider in there kept 'slippin' me their phone number so that they could braid my hair at their house......

Hustlers and crooks - all of em.:nono:

$100.00 an hour? wtf? are they braiding folks hair with strands made of gold?

thats crazy as heck. the last time my hair was braided with extensions back in the day it took 10 hours. they crazy as heck.

LOL @ this thread.

I just visited the website and was wondering why a place called "Oh my nappy hair" would be offering texturizers and relaxers.

I just drove past there the other day. I think they're out of business because the place looked closed and there's a big For Lease realtor's sign in the front.

Nappy cannot be turned into a positive word, just like the other n-word. america has NOT changed like that. hell, it's worse than before in a lot of ways.

I was just about to say, I was over by there and noticed the place was closed.

Way, wayyyyy, wayyyyyyyyy back, prolly round 95-96, I went to the Labrea and Wilshire location and Rosario the owner gave me the most horrible blunt cut ever. I was relaxed at the time and would just go for a press and curl since it was walking distance from my old place. She kept tryin to upsell me to braids, but I wasn't feeling it because every patron in the shop with braids had their ends burned with a lighter to seal. And everybody in the shop except Rosario had a funky attitude.

When I went natural, I didn't consider going back there for any reason.
