Question Nay...you said you use the Liv while your hair is pressed? its water based, it doesnt mess up the press? is the Liv all you use to press your hair? and for your braid outs??

this is so inspirational ok i'm going back and rethinking this whole petroleum/mineral oil thing. so the plan is is avoiding heat,wash/condition and leaving your hair alone! Seems the people with the simplest routines have the most hair.

Yeah, Liv is my all-around product. It doesn't mess up my press, but it can be drying on pressed hair. You know, your hair looks all shiny that first day. Then the next morning it looks thirsty.

But it works just the opposite on my braidout and twistout. After applying it generously to dripping wet hair, it locks in the moisture and keeps my hair looking shiny all week.

Msportugal, I tried the butters and oils, but I always ended up going back to good ol' petroleum/mineral oil. I think I've come full circle. When I was a little girl, my mom would use "grease and water." I spent many years pressing and doing other stuff, but now I'm back to "grease and water."

But whatever the product, I do think simplicity can be the key for lots of folks!

Nay your hair truely is inspiring- so pretty. And keep up with that Liv if it ain't broke don't fix it! My pastor's daughters have had waist length pressed hair all of their lives and Liv is the only product they've ever used in their hair.

That is officially my goal. I look at that album at least once a week for inspiration so of course I would also like to see Nay as FOTM. Now if I could only get my presses to look like that as opposed to the frizzy mess I currently get when I do it myself.

. I used to be a constant heat user like you when I was 14 and my hair was a tad bit shorter than yours and never grew beyond that length until I got a relaxer (barely used heat with a relaxer BTW). I can only imagine how long my natural hair can get now. Your album has given me some hope since Im not going to use intensive heat for the next few years
