I just finished rinsing out the conditioner and my hair....my god....it's so freaking soft! I'm just so happy right now, yall don't even know. My hair is so badly damaged (I mean breaking badly and so, so dry) that nothing would help it feel soft. But Breakthru did. I was scared to try the shampoo so I just bought the condit. and I've been converted. But strangely mine tingled a bit and it kinda smelled pepperminty (yeah that's a word /images/graemlins/grin.gif) and I'm wondering if it's always like that (it's a good thing). Getting the shampoo tomorrow.

Any recs for a scalp moistener? I get dry and itchy scalp if I don't grease it but I'm trying to stay away from PJ and mineral oil.

Anyway, lemme go dry my hair, I'm dripping all over the keyboard LOL

wow the only other person on this board i know who has used the conditioner is robin so its good to hear additional feedback. the shampoo had me convinced. of course i am leery of buying everything in a product line because sometimes the shampoo will be good but the conditioner will be blah. so hearing reviews helps to get a perspective on how a product works for people. thanks i will have to check that conditioner out. God bless you all.

It sure is. The shampoo is pepperminty in smell also. I like the shampoo because as far as I can tell there are no SLS or ALS (two ingrediants that are drying to hair) in it.

Glad you confirmed my opinion on the conditioner! /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Both the shampoo and conditioner are truly unbelievable (and I rarely rave about products). I've never before used something that gives instant results. And they are a little expensive so I alternate them with less costly products but they'll always be a part of my regimen.

For a scalp moistener, I recommend Kemi-oyl or Parnevu T-Tree Scalp Oil ( highly recommended ). I have the bottle right now and it says, "Heals scalp -- Stops Itching -- Stimulates Growth." I love this stuff! I have a dry, itchy scalp, too, and this oil immediately calmed it. Parnevu's oil doesn't smell like tea tree oil at all; it's very light in consistency and sweet-smelling. It contains other oils such as olive oil, safflower oil, sweet almond oil, among others. It contains no petrolatum or mineral oil. I recently saw it at Wal-Mart for $4.97 (2 oz bottle -- I've only seen it in this size).

I can't remember what I had but it was something you put in your hair as a hairdress or something, but some of that stuff got on my neck and I got the most obscene rash. I liked what it did for my hair but my skin couldn't take it! That was the first time I'd ever had a reaction to a hair product before....

Unfortunately, this didn't work for me. I bought the conditioner and it left my hair rough and really tangled. I used it again--decided that the first time could've been a fluke--last night and had to follow up with my regular conditioner, Motions Plus, to be able to comb through my hair. But, though it didn't work for my hair...it DOES smell heavenly! /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Just had to add to this thread...I just tried the shampoo and I love it! I was afraid it would leave my hair coated and not clean feeling enough but my hair was clean, moisturized and tangle-free.

I purchased this b/c of the thread that listed the ingredients to look out for from Ebony magazine ....can't remember who kindly took the time to re-write the article but Thank you!!!
Breakthru products are supposed to have that Anti-Breakage Ceramide stuff in it so that is what also prompted me to try this. (Even though I don't know what or how it is listed on the ingredients) But the first few ingredients reminded me of Cream of Natue but no balsam to cause build-up.

After washing with this I had very few tangles and only a few hairs in the comb. A drastic difference than my normal combouts after washing. Also I must add that I just washed my hair after wearing it straight for 4 days. Which means it usually has less tangles than after wearing it curly every day...but I still think there was a difference b/c of the shampoo.

I wonder if they changed the formulation of the BreakThru shampoo. I tried it a few years ago, and I hated it because it of that coated, greasy residue it left on my hair. I might give this another try.
