Well... today was the day! My stylist texlaxed my hair with Precise no-lye. I was verryyy nervous. My hair felt so light that I thought he had given me a full blown relaxer. I kept imaging how angry I was gonna be when I got up from the shampoo bowl.

When I looked, I saw a nice wavy texture. No burning, no breakage (and hopefully there won't be any).

I was natural for awhile and it was very time consuming.
Looking forward to babying my hair on my own, but the salon uses too much heat. He blew my hair, flat ironed it and then curled it. I cringed!!!

My goal is to make my visits less and less and learn how to do my hair on my own.

Thanks for all the support and knowlege you ladies have shared on this site. Now I wanna grow, grow, grow and keep growing.

I'm a happy girl!!

I tried taking a photo of the back, but I can't get it right for some reason. I'll have someone take a pic and get it posted.

It just felt very good to not have to deal with tight, tight, tight curls.

Welcome to the club, I love being texlaxed because it offers great versatility for me, it allows me to appreciate the texture of my hair and to go for straight looks from time to time with more managability than natural hair.:)

what is the difference between being texlaxed and/or underprocessed?
I have heard texlaxed used many times on this forum.. but isn't texlaxed just leaving on the relaxer for a shorter period of time as opposed to underprocessing not getting your hair as straight?

I am just asking so I can get a better understanding of this, thanks;)

Essentially...Yes. The explanation that I have heard that makes the most sense is that you texlax on purpose and you underprocess by accident. Believe it or not since I have started texlaxing I have had a case where an area of my hair came out underprocessed...Why?

Because it was not processed to the degree that I wanted it processed:look:

I hope that makes sense:)

I think I got what you are saying:look: ...I think texlaxed will be my goal on my next retouch because too straight would make my hair limp and thinner looking... where as texlaxed will give me more manageable roots, body and a thicker feel.

Thanks for your support ladies. It feels so darn thin because my beautician tries to go bone straight with all the heat.

I just pray that I don't have any breakage with this.
I plan on taking Biotin to thicken my hair (read somewhere that it helped thicken someones hair) and using Naturallady's MTG for growth.

I'm gonna try a wetset this weekend. Wish me luck.

I encourage any tips that you may want to pass on:look:

Congrats! I  being texturized/texlaxed/underprocessed. :)

Same here :D !

Congrats raeshan! When I get my touch ups, I know my hair always looks straighter than it really is. I always freak out a little bit, but after the first wash at home, I see that the curls are really there. Good luck!

It feel great to wash my hair last night without all the fuss. I washed, put product in it (leave in, hair milk, monoi oil) and then used elasta qp mango butter to set it. My hair came out a little greasy. I used the rollers with the pins (think these are magnetic rollers) and it doesn't roll very tight or maybe I just can't roll very tight.

Now I have a kindy greasy set and I don't like it. My ends need to be trimmed from the last disaster I had (Feb. 06). My hair is growing out, but my lengths are very uneven. I don't want to cut it because then I won't have any hair.

I don't want to post a photo until I like the outcome.

Any tips on how you set your hair? rollers.. setting lotions?
