Ladies! This is the thread where we will discuss anything you'd like to discuss and ask anything you'd like to ask.
I'm sure it does talk about men commiting adultery, you should try and start a new thread because it might be hard for others to view your question.kim said:Does it talk about men commiting adultery in the bible? Because I have only read about an adulterous wife. And where in the bible does it talk about forgivness? Thanks in advance
sillygurl18 said:I'm not where I want to be concerning reading the bible, but I know it talks about men committing fornication. You have to remember that no sin is greater than the other.
Man is not perfect, but we don't have to be, the Bible says in Romans 5:1-2;
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ; By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
justified means righteous. This scripture means that we are counted right because of our faith in Jesus Christ, not because of what we have or haven't done. Because of our faith in Jesus Christ we are saved and have eternal life in heaven. Our salvation and eternal life are gift given by God through grace. Grace is getting what you don't deserve. As sinners we deserve death, we deserve hell.
King David committed fornication with a married woman, and had her husband killed when his attempt at covering up it failed, all because he was at the wrong place at the wrong time. The Bible says that David was a man after God's own heart. That illustrates God's forgiveness even when we fail.

About forgiveness:
The Bible talks about 3 gifts of forgiveness
1. The forgiveness that God gives to us 1 John 1:9; Luke 7:47
2. The forgiveness we give to ourselves
Philippians 3:13-14; Colossians 1:13-14
3. The forgiveness we give to others Luke 17:3-4
Stages of Unforgiveness
* Initial Hurt: Psalms 109:22
* Resentment: Colossians 3:8-10
* Retaliation: Romans 12:17-20
* Bitterness: Ephesians 4:31; Hebrews 12:15
When we forgive others, we acknowledfe several things:
God's love for us
Our love for God.
Our trust in God's justice.
Our faith in God's plan for us. Romans 8:28
Our enemy is not people. Ephesians 6:12
Matthew 18:21-35
Luke 6:36
John 13:34-35
Does Forgiveness remove hurt:
probably not immediately
forgiveness has nothing to do with feelings
forgiveness is a decision
forgetting is a process
Forgiveness has to do with the principle of harvest
The harvest is according to the sowing Galatians 6:7-8
The harvest us determined by the kind of seed sown. Genesis 1:11-12
What Do I Do
Forgive brothers and sisters and you will set yourself free
The need not ask for forgiveness to be forgiven
For something or someone to affect you, you must first allow it to affect you.
Take responsibility for your own destiny (harvest)<-- When you plant a seed you don't instantly get a harvest.
I needed this right now as we speak. Man. You just all my business.sillygurl18 said:I'm happy I could help. My pastor is teaching a series called power over your problems. He taught the forgiveness lesson I posted. One of the many things that I was convicted on is the "forgiveness has nothing to do with feelings" line. OUCH!!! How many of us don't forgive because our feelings are hurt?
