NY Phyto Relaxers!!

Hi y'all ,

I want to get a touch using Phyto Index 2 relaxer and I just have too much hair for me to do this at home. I don't want to go bone straight, I want a texturized look (about 85% straight). Can anyone reccomend a salon in the 5 boroughs that uses the Phytospecific Relaxer that they have used or knows someone who goes there ? And can you give me an approx. cost for a touchup?? Mind you I am 12 weeks post, with dense 3c/4a hair. So if the place you reccommend charges by the amount of new growth you have, let me know that too.

I want to know too. I was actually checking for New Jersey. No luck yet!

UPDATE - the phyto customer service rep is emailing me a list of NY and NJ salons. I can just forward the email once I get it. If it's not too long, I will just post in this thread.

I'd try Diane DaCosta. My best friend gets her hair done by her. She says that Diane does her texturizers with it. She also says that the assistant Diane has is good. Here's some info:

Did you find out the price for that salon?? Let me tell you my story:

I've been looking EVERYWHERE for a salon that I like (did consultations) that actually uses Phyto. The place that I absolutly loved was Hairstyls by Joseph. I had a consultation w/ a woman named Akemi. She was nic and had the most gorgeous hair. (GORGEOUS). The peoblem: the relaxer cost $140 and up depending on how much relaxer you use. A trim less than an inch was $40 and the deep conditioner was $35.. I'm a recovering colelge student so--

I found this other place uptown (101 and Amsterdam) called Elia's I haven't done the consultation with her, but she was very very pleasant and nice over the phone and I'm going to see her on Tues.. Her number is (212) 316- 3100.

Mind you, I haven't gotten a relaxer since July so she'll probably look at me like 'This ***** is out her mind'. The price for Phyto is $90 and up and that includes an extra (besides the Phytosecific Restructure Milk) deep condition with either Redken or Alter ego. I'm liking this place but if Josephine's (that's her name) hair isn't up to par when I go see her (like Akemi's) then it's a no-go and I will just have to shell out the $9,856,085,695,089 dollars for Joseph's hair styling.

O yea, the other place I went to was Ellin Lavar Hair designs.. I didnt lik them too much because the woman (Marcia pronounce Mar-cee-uh) was trying to push for me to get my hair blow dryed.

But you know, its your choice. I'll post results of my excursion. I wanna hear stories about you too..
