Which do you ladies prefer and why? Should Nupur smell like ammonia after it has been set overnight for application?

I have used both Nupur and Reshma henna, and have FLATLY decided that I will stick to Nupur henna solely and exclusively! For me, its simply the all-time hands-down best. I especially love that Nupur contains other natural, ayurvedic powders in it to help strengthen and darken the hair. I'm not sure why your mix smells funny. Mine always smells like green peas - earthy like. I mix only amla oil, ao white camelia condish, and coffee/tea in mine. I have actually gotten used to the earthy smell of my henna, and llook forward to my monthly treatments. Love  nupur henna!

I have a local Subzi Mandi Indian store here in New Jersey. That's where I pick up my NUPUR pouches. They're about $3.29 for a 200g pouch. sometimes I buy 2 or three at a time and store it. I used to do whole head henna's religioulsly 2x's per month for an entire year. Now I've cut back to doing a whole head henna only once per month. I think I've pretty much reached my henna "saturation". My hair continues to get strong with each treatment, but I no longer have noticeable color changes like in the beginning. It is at a final colored state of auburn-ish/reddish-brown. That's great for me...since I no longer have to wonder what colors the greys will look like this time:grin:. Its always the same now - never darker, never lighter. I'm glad about that.
