did i miss something for any clarification or questions please ask

welcome to the board, afrogymnast!

it seems to me you just need to find the right moisturizer for your hair. in addition to the mango butter, you may need something before it to add the moisture that the mango butter will seal in. if you're considering the S-Curl, i'd say try it or some other curl activator. that has been the answer for me. if you want some other moisturizer beyond that, hopefully someone else will have other recommendations.

Hello and Welcome AfroGymnast.

I have relaxed 3c hair, but I will try to recommend some products that I think may be good for natural hair.

I would highly recommend a hot oil treatment especially if your hair and scalp is dry. I suffer from this as well, and I use them every wash as a preshampoo treatment. You can do them with essential oils, store brought products like Hot Six oil and my old time favorite honey and olive oil mixture.

I would also recommend using oil or some sort of moisturizer on the scalp at least once or twice a week and every day on the hair. The ORS Carrot Oil can be used to do this. Many people stay away from products that have petroleum and I don't think this one has petro in it. Castor oil would also help or Wild Growth oil.

For my scalp I make a mixture of essential oils and shea butter (there's a recipe called the Coconut Rose Butter) on the Hair Recipe Board that's very similar.

A good deep moisturizing conditioner with cones is the Motions Moisture Plus and for protein CPR or Motions Oil Moisturizer Protein conditioner.

For leave ins I would recommend Infusium 23, Razac's Leave In Treatment or Motions Nourish In. I think these are really important to use after washing the hair in addition to moisturizers.

A good regular wash out conditioner w/o cones that I used to use is the Suave Awapuhi knock-off. It smells delightful and does a good job of detangling.

I have noticed a dramatic difference in the moisture my hair retains since I have been using the jojoba/castor/rosemary oil blend.

Hi
Just wanted to welcome u to our hair family. I hope you're able to get all of your questions answered...

God Bless,

Welcome. For me finding the right type of moisturizer...applying it to wet hair then sealing it in before it's dry is the key for keeping my hair soft and moisturized when it's dry. Right now (as I type) I melt a small amount(1/2 teaspoon) of my personal shea butter and oil pomade. Add about 2 tablespoons of Pantene Pro-v Smooth and Sleek or my favorite Paul Mitchells Supercharged(1 table spoon each) and use this as a leave in after my final rinse. Also you might have a problem with hard water...which will leave your hair very hard and dry. I use bottled distilled water as much as I can. I use it as my final rinse always. And if I'm just rinsing I use only this. By the way the Sauve Coconut drued my hair out personally.
