Anyone ever reach their final hair goal, then not know what to do with now? As my hair gets longer, I'm less concerned with it, and am thinking by the time I reach my goal I may not care for it!

I am not at my final goal, but I am noticing that the longer my hair gets I am less concerned about styling and taking care of my hair. You may just be going through a blah stage with your hair. I just trimmed less than an inch off my hair and I am back in love with my hair.

It has been the same for me, I did nothing extra for my hair for a few months. I want to make BSL by December, so I have decided that if I make my goal then I will do a BKT, so that has encouraged me to stay on top of my hair care.

11/24/10 ETA:
:look: I'm not the happiest with my hair right now; I've had 2 setbacks since my original post. I haven't reached BSL, and I'll trim once I get about 1" past BSL. I plan to trim 2x a year to even up my layers, and I'll use heat once a month and keep my hair stretched. In a year, I'll see what progress I've made, the condition of my hair, and then again decide, now what? :yep:

Bumping for more responses.......When i grow my hair out i will move on to other things like exercising more, skin care ect but at this moment im just not interested in anything else except my hair

I find although I am still doing my hair regimen (keeping it real simple) I am getting less into playing around in my hair with different concoctions.
I have noticed that I am diversiying though...into skin care and make-up. After 1 year into my journey, I went crazy on exercise and food supplements! Thank heavens that's over...
I just want to get extra long hair now but have a banging body to go with it... he he!

Oh, I will definitely care when I get to MBL/WL

But I will say that getting to a comfortable length (started when I was past APL, but I am now BSL) has definitely made it so hair is not a priority. I can find myself going weeks at a time with my hair in a bun. Cowashing and DCing are such second nature that I don't even think when I am doing them most of the time.

I'm nowhere near my final length but now that I've grown to a comfortable length, I'm much less concerned with my hair than I was at a shorter length. I didn't understand before, but now I see how people can bun for months on end, not caring about showing their length.

I just cut my hair to SL from BSL so that it'll be easier for me to transition with wigs. Also, so that I won't have the anxiety of cutting off long hair when I BC.

It was easy for me to do because i'm not desperate for super long (i've always had long hair) hair anymore. I used to NEED WL hair, but it don't even excite me anymore.

I am going through that right now. A part of me wants to cut my hair real short and dye it blonde now, because i feel like all I needed was to prove to myself and [the world] that my hair could grow past my shoulders.:ohwell:

In my eyes, I have learned healthy hair habits that will stay with me for a lifetime.

I don't think of it as "reaching my goal length" I see it as a life of fabulously maintained hair, no matter what the length/style

I set a date of December 31, 2011 to just accept whatever length my hair is at.
Although hair is definitely a hobby I can't wait to be free!
I won't be doing as much protective styling (which I do basically everyday) and no more obsession. I haven't been letting myself enjoy my hair.

Well, I changed my goal from full WL to full lower BSL, and I've been wanting a short hairstyle for a few months :nono:. But I still love my hair and I'm not gonna cut (maybe a short weave instead?). I'm definitely less obsessive about things than I was six months ago. Maybe that's because for the last six months my hair hasn't gotten any longer? :look: :lachen:. Darn old damage causing breakage :ohwell:

My bun has been huge since I passed APL and that's definitely become my main style, lol.

Yes, I never knew my hair could be so beautiful until I learned how to treat it well

You mean 2010 or 2011...?

This is somewhat how i feel also. I set a date to reach goals which is December 2011 and i will accept my length and decrease the amt of time i spend on hair/ forums for hair, money for products, anything hair related and pay more attention to other stuff. this doesn't mean i will care about my hair less but i think it will be easier to maintain the length and less time consuming than it is actually growing the length.
