Now Sally's is Knocking Off As I Am Coconut Co-Wash

gorgeoushair, I don't think there's anything wrong with them making the knock-off, it's that they're shameless. For example, with the Mixed Chick/Mixed Silk debacle they not only knocked off their formula, but also the coloring, name, font/print style, and packaging etc. With this Co-wash it's in a brown jar, that can potentially confuse consumers. Especially, uneducated ones.

At least, with the GVP products they're being transparent. They state that it's similar to Joico K-Pak, or Matrix Biolage. You know your buying a dupe, upfront. In addition, the price is significantly less than the name brand product. Sally's is selling this stuff for $7.99 w/o card and $7.19 with a Sally card. That's the same price they charge for the As I Am Co-Wash, unless it's on sale.

If you send your SO/Hubby/Kid to Sally's to buy the As I Am Co-Wash on your behalf and you told them it's in a brown jar. They could see the Silk Elements in a brown jar and the words co-wash, then your P.O'd, because they brought the wrong product home.

Just my thoughts!

The Sally's workers stay buying up As I Am (they admitted it)...maybe they'll fall in love with the Sally's brand and As I Am will be available when I want it. Just saying.

mz.rae IDareT'sHair, I seen the jbco and thought, this has a lot extra stuff. I may buy some when I run out to see if I like it. Please let me know what you think about it whenever you try it.

divachyk

It was all extra & thangs:lol:

$4.99 You know you ain't gettin' much of nothin':look:

Imma pull it up on line to see what that was after Carrot Oil. It had SKU numbers over the rest of the ingredients.

I like As I Am but wouldn't purchase the Sally knockoffs. I've never had a good experience with them.

Sally's have a knock off product for every damn product out there.......steups. Ain't nobody got time for shopping at Sally's. People should just boycott their stores.

I honestly don't see that its a problem. Every store has a knock off brand of name brands. Walmart has Equate, Target has Up&UP, Suave has Suave Professionals, etc. I do agree that they should probably put on there something like "Compare to _____" like they do with the GVP products. Most companies will try to make a product similar to what is selling well, or improve on that product.

Why are we surprised though. Everyone has a knock off. There is always a no-frills around. I've never tried As I am or Mixed Chicks, but based on reviews I've seen (mostly bad) I fail to believe Sally's could make it much worse than it already was. IJS

Please excuse my iPhone; it's trying to get it together

Saludable84, the AIA Coconut CoWash is TheBomb.com! Your hair and scalp will be clean w/o the stripped feeling, if you're into co-washing. I have fallen in love with boutique hair brands, so it's nice to have something I can buy on the ground. Currently, Sally's has a buy 2, get one free sale for the AIA CoWash, which is 1/3rd off, plus you can stack your %15 off coupon. That's 48 oz of co-wash for $13.58 + tax, which for me is a good deal.

I can't speak for their other products, because I have not used them due to their price point. If I'm spending that much $$$ on a product, I'd rather support a brotha or sistah. :yep:

I just hear so many mixed things about it. And I'm texlaxed, so the reviews are even more confusing.
