I am trying to do the Daniel 21 days fast. I am on day number 11 and ready to give up. What happens if you do not finish a fast? Will you still be blessed? or will you not get what you are fasting for? What happens to you?

I feel very tired and funny. I am eating things off the list but still feel funny. Thanks in advance.

Listen to 'your' body, not any thoughts of fear or condemnation. Of course we are to complete what we start, but don't beat yourself up if you can't continue. God will honor your intent. He knows the players and the fakers and He definitely knows the integrity of your heart.

Fasting is not easy and it never will be; neither is it supposed to be. But God says to 'continue' on with the fight. If you don't complete this one, start over and build yourself up in prayer prior asking God to help you endure.

I failed on my very first 10-Day Fast with my Church and I felt so ashamed. But my Pastors and the Lord just blessed me so. I was a newbie and I just wasn't built up for the 'challenge'. But I was so determined to do it again, that the next Fast I completed and I was so blessed.

Baby, God knows your sweetness. If anything, He's glad that you even took the time to go as far as you have.

Fasting does not 'trick' or bargain with God to move in our lives. It is simply an act of discipline that we endure to strengthen ourselves for the battles that lie ahead.

It's boot camp for us as intercessors. We stand stronger against the enemy. Hey, the devil runs fast from me when I'm fasting. I look him in the eye and snarl... "devil, don't mess with me, when I'm hungry or when I've given up my trips to Starbucks... (no joke ;) ) And don't let me 'fast' one of my favorite TV shows ... no sir-ree. The devil knows better than to mess with me.

The point is that you build yourself up 'Fast by Fast.... Prayer by Prayer, God's Word by God's Word...and Love by Love from those around you.

One last note: During a fast, your body is eliminating many, many, toxins. And it doesn't surpise me that you are feeling a little 'strange' right now. During a fast , you MUST drink plenty of water to flush out the toxin levels in your body. About 1 gallon of water a day. Not all at once...just throughout the day. Drink as much as you can. Add a little lemon to the water as well. It neutralizes the alkaline/acid in your system. It cuts your appetite.

Hope this helps, Darlin. You did a wonderful job. Just keep going. Listen to your body and do not be condemned by anyone. If someone tries to convict you, send them to me. Okay?

Thank you so much Shimmie. You always know just what to say. This really helps me a lot. I think I will try to go until this Sunday because it will at least be 14 days. I was really beating myself up over it thinking God would not honor what I am fasting for. You are right how could I forget he does look at the heart and effort.

I also want to say "thanks" to Shimmie for her words of encouragement. I haven't fasted in a long time and was not sure if I was up to the challenge, but you are giving me reassurance!

Stay strong, sweet angels. Each day that we live is a process. And we simply fall into the loving arms of Jesus and we grow. In our weakness, He is made strong. He bears us up when we feel at our very lowest.

Even at the very moment when we feel we have disappointed Him, He is the lifter of our head. When yiou have time read Psalm 3...I love it. It says "There are many that say, you will not help me...." but......... ;)

You know what? Anytime we set out to do something for the Lord which requires a sacrifice or a major change in our normal routine, we are open to 'attack'; the 'enemy of our soul' the devil is coming in to attack and weaken our efforts. But we just keep going no matter what. If we fall, so what, for a good man will fall 7 times (or more) but God is there to continue to lift us up no matter what.

Remember how satan tempted and taunted Jesus in the wilderness when Jesus had fasted for 40 days and 40 nights? My point is that, we all come under the same attack when fasting (before, during and/or after).

Angels, still listen to your bodies. It's especially important when it's during or close to the end or the onset of our monthly cycles. Our bodies cry out for certain nutrients during that time. Some of us need iron and an increase in Vitamins C and B complexes.

I'm not making light of the seriousness of fasting, but there are many factors that we need to be aware of so that while we are fasting, we can understand why we have certain challenges.

Caffeine and sugar withdrawals can bring about strong headaches, but it's resolved with drinking a few cups of warm water and lemon (no sugar).

When you have a chance read the information at the top of our forum (the stickies) on prayer and fasting which was posted by our 'sister' Star. ;)

The key is listen to your bodies and don't give up. Just start over again after the Lord releases you to fast again. He will not forsake the integrity of your hearts and your reasons for fasting. You still have the victory. ;)

Kally, sorry but I'm gonna be your drill sergant,

And say don't quit soldier. NO PAIN NO GAIN. What do you want God to do and how bad do you want him to do it. Jesus wanted to give up and not die for us be he said never the less not my will by thou will.

Yes he'll honor what you've done, but if you tell that flesh get the behind me. Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeded out of the mouth of God. And push on.

DON'T YOU GIVE YOU SOLDIER, YOU CAN DO IT.

YOU CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST.

What you feeling is the flesh not wanting you to do get the victory over it.

Again God's knows your heart but you CAN DO IT SOLDIER. if God brought you to this 21 day fast he can take you through it.

DON'T YOU QUIT, AND DON'T YOU GIVE UP, YOU CAN DO IT, YOU CAN DO IT.

BE BLESSED.

This is up to God because he nows your heart. Jus talk to Him and see how the spirit leads you. I know God always blesses our efforts.
