Hi everyone:

I had my post partum visit with my OB and I am cleared to resume all regular activity including my workouts! YEAH!!!! My stomach is back down and I am 1 lb away from my pre-pregnancy weight! I spoke to her about continuing my prenatals and she said I did not necessarily have to continue taking my prescribed prenatals that any old prenatal or multi-vitamin would do. Since my prescribed prenatals cost me $30 a month I am all for looking for less expensive ones to support my body's demands (I am breastfeeding solely).

I then asked if I continue taking them would it help me avoid hair shedding and she told me no. Oh well nice try on my part.

I know some of you take prenatals to support healthy hair growth - where do you purchase your non-prescribed prenatals? I looked in Target in their vitamin section and did not see them.

Thanks ladies I know someone on here has the answer as I am looking to pay $10 a month vs. $30 a month on prenatals.

I'm taking GNC prenatals & am breastfeeding exclusively as well. Their brand is very good. As far as the shedding, go to a Dominican Salon and ask if they carry Lipoxin. It's by Alpha Parf now. They bought the line from another company. I used it with my last two to stop the shedding in its tracks. I haven't been able to find it anywhere online to buy since I want to be prepared for my next round ot postpartum shedding. HTH

I use Twinlab prenatal and purchase from either drugstore.com or Vitaminshoppe.com because they tend to have specials all the time.

OT. How did you manage to get your weight back down so quickly? Was it just breast feeding? Or is there anything else you did?

What helped is the fact I didn't gain a bunch of extra weight while pregnant. And all I have been doing is breastfeeding. Since my son is greedy he has been eating a lot and that burns about 500 calories a day.

I plan to start running again in another week as well b/c I really enjoyed it as a stress relief. Now my eating habits have been aight but I have been giving in to ice cream and Pepperidge Farm cookies which have been on sale but that was last week. I have been eating much better this week with my morning oatmeal and fresh fruit smoothies. YUM!

For lunch I made homemade chicken salad and have been baking chicken for dinner.

I have been taking Solgar prenatals. Some chick in a magazine was saying it's been her HG for her skin........I know that's not the only benefit you're looking for...but anyway its available at whole foods.
