Back in the day I had long thick hair! My mom and I weren't concerned what products were used or what the ingredients were and my hair consistently grew. Even as I became a young adult I had long thick hair and rarely obsessed about products and product ingredients. For example I used to use Doo-groo stimulating oil but stopped using it because it had mineral oil, BUT it worked for me. I think in 2014 I'm going to keep it simple and use what products I want and go from there! I will not obsess in 2014!

I find keeping it simple works for me. The more I experiment with all these new products, the more my hair freaks out. I may try a couple things in the year but I'm just gonna stick to my staples and bun away.

I couldn't agree more, I feel the length comes more when you learn the few products and techniques that work for your hair and stick to it no matter what. I realized that my regimen hasn't really changed much (nor the products) over the past 2 years. If anything the only thing that has changed is......I can't really say. lol Probably that I detangle while deep conditioning whereas I would DC, shampoo, and THEN detangle. I only did that to help cut down on wash day time though. :)

I need to do the opposite  I know my working products but I need to obsess over my regimen.

I tried the all-natural kick in 2012. But my hair genuinely, completely loves Organix products, which isn't completely organic (irony, here). So I'm over it. What works is what works.

I'm on the same page as OP I intend to revisit some products I have used in the past with success despite them having a couple of unsavoury ingredients. I know my natural hair fully appreciates natural/organic products but my relaxed hair is not so fussy, so I'm going to stick to what I know works and try a couple of new things too for this year. I avoided so many products/bandwagons because of mineral oil/petroleum/dimethicone, even when they were way down the ingredients lists. I'm so over the cost and having to hunt down certain products/ingredients, I do however intend to keep to a light natural moisturiser.
