No-Lye Relaxer Straightens Better than Lye?

Has anyone else noticed that no-lye relaxers get hair straighter than lye relaxers? I'm thinking that it's because they are thinner consistency and, therefore, easier to manipulate. What say you?

I dont know why, but it does, i use to use no lye and it was bone straight, then did a corrective with lye as Aphogee made it frizzy, some how the lye underprocessed the bone straight hair, now 2 years later i have retouched with no-lye and it is bone straight again...However, I think that some lye brands are able to get your hair straight, motions unfortunately is not one of them!

I found out (google) that motions is one of the milder lye relaxers and as such doesnt straigten hair as quickly as other lye relaxers.

I just relaxed my hair two days ago with motions in mild. My hair is very very straight. But it also burned. Before this relaxer, my hair has relaxed with any no lye relaxer...and burned as well.
One difference i've noticed with the lye is that for once, my hair actually has body. It is full and soft...unlike with the no lye ones.
Will try and bear the agony (best motivation for stretching relaxers) and continue with motions cos the benefits to my hair seem worth it already.;)

Whenever I use no-lye, I always use Optimum. The lye brands that I've tried include Affirm and Dudley's. Affirm straightened better than Dudley's, but neither of these lye brands "raised any hell."

On another note, I'm glad that I finally got a couple of responses. I was about to repost this under the Title: "Beyonce wants to know about Lye Relaxers."

I used no-lye relaxers years ago. They didn't straighten my hair that well. They always made my hair look very dry. However, they were always gentle on my scalp. Now that I use lye relaxers, my hair no longer looks dry. My hair gets much straighter. As far as my scalp, I just get it based well before getting a relaxer touch up.

This is what I was going to say. :)
