... and lovin' it so far. Went to a hair dresser recommended by a LHCF member. Was a bit nervous after having had no chemicals for over eight years. I asked her to texturize it, she was a little hesitant because my hair is so fine and soft (but definitely 4a/b nappy), and she hadn't deliberately relaxed anyone less than 100%, but she was willing to try. Basically she put in the relaxer, spread it through, and almost immediately washed it out. One side did end up a little more processed than the other, but I think with products it will be hard to tell. I had no burns whatsoever, and my hair is silky soft and swingy! Are relaxers better than they were ten years ago?

Rather than try the wash and wear, she did a wrap set and it turned out GREAT.

My DH loves it. I'll try the wash-and-wear later - if it doesn't work out, I plan to do braid-outs.

Anyway, a happy convert to the "other"

Glad to hear that it turned out well. I've been thinking about texturizing but I've been hesitant after being natural for a year and a half. I remember well the damage that chemicals did to my hair. Your experience gives me encouragement.

I'm glad you like it and can't wait to see pics (if you choose to post any)
