No base Relaxer?

Hello everyone!

I am currently transitioning...and I am doing the C&G and I was in the BSS today and saw a revlon no base relaxer that my old hair dresser used to use on my baby hairs and nape hairs b4 i actually put an entire perm all over my hair.

My question is...what is a no base relaxer? I NEVER want to perm all my hair again but I do want to touch up the front and the back...you know when I wanna have a nice pony tail I dont wanna apply all the gel and what not and also doin the carouso thing i dont like all that frizziness in the front.

I was thinking about the Revlon or Hawaiian Silky no base relaxer but I have not made up my mind :wallbash:

Can someone tell me what the no base relaxer is and which no base relaxer they like?

Thank yoouu:grin:

no base is samething as lye. pls dont touch up at all. have to tried applying moisturiser to the area and then castor oil at night then tie scarf to lay it down.
am not transitioning but stretching relaxing for 17wks am currently 11 wks post and this is what i do it really helps

its just no base (the white creamy stuff) to keep it in place or protect yout scalp to some degree. I wouldnt mess with it.

OTOH, I do touch up my halo (edges and nape) sometimes without even relaxer the rest of y hair. I have done this for years. Just dont overlap and I leave it for a hot 5 minutes including app time. This helps me stretch and has not given me any problems. YOu can't do it often though!

Thank you...yeah I guess I probably shouldn't touch that stuff...I just want my edges to stay down especially when I plan on using the carouso rollers...the front is always frizzy and the sides too. If I use castor oil or try to lay it flat my curls wont look as good...

Is there another alternative, esp. not using gel?
