I did a sally's run on Friday to get some Curlformers, and picked up a new con and the Shea moisture curling souffle while stocking up @ Target. If I was gonna be inside all weekend better try out some new stuff!!

It has been raining on and off in BK, and was very heavy at times. It's clear now but the worst is yet to come, better sfe than sorry.

See y'all, I'm not the only one. :giggle:
I slept through the worst of it, now its on the way to NY. Stay safe Ladies! This too shall pass!

NATIVE FLORIDIAN HERE

:bighug: to everyone. In Florida, this is a yearly occurrence and trust, we are not immune to it. Storms are unpredictable and no two are the same.

Prayers are with you all. Be safe and God be with you.

This is what I was going to say. Every hurricane has the potential for some serious havoc. There's no getting used to them.

Now those of us who live miles from the coast don't like what happens down there, but sure would appreciate some of the rain.

Hurricane Don ran into the dome of heat on top of Texas, and Don turned tail and ran to Mexico! Sigh...

Glad Everyone is okay!
Other then some Flooding which I expected, power outtages which I hoped wouldn't happen since I just went food shopping. We are all alive an well.

I thanked God I opened my eyes to see my boys in one peace today.
Ladies thanks for all the prayers, and continue to pray for others who still are in danger :(

Continuing to pray for anyone who Irene may still effect. :(
Not over for everyone yet, and then..... JOSE is showing his face as well.

We're OK in Shirley, NY. We relocated to my in laws' house. Thank goodness, we still have power. Our apt. in Mastic Beach lost power.:ohwell: There are down trees, everywhere. We got off lucky. It could have been a lot worse. My family in NC, CT, and Port Chester are also OK. I'm so relieved. This was the most catastrophic storm I've ever been through.

Northern NJ fine here!

The rain found a few holes into my house but otherwise no major problems. It is windy here however, so, downed trees is the next big issue outside of continued flooding for the rest of the week.

tomorrow its sunny and 81. LOL

Coastal areas of NC were flooded heavily due to storm surge and rising rivers. But I had to laugh at Irene cuz we are 2+ hrs inland and only saw 0.50 inch of rain! Some gusts to 30 mph but thats it. I'm glad I didn't play into the hype and waste my $, gas, time evac'ing to SC...cuz it passed right on by with nothing more than a tiny bit of rain and some wind.

Just like Earl did last year this time! When you've lived in coastal SC and along the Mid-Atlantic for much of your life like I have, you don't run and hide at every single hurricane unless you live in a low-lying area or mobile home, which would definitely be adversely affected. Thank God there was nothing more to it!

Ladies I lost power, it is not expected to come on until September 4th.
I am in a Hotel Right now.
We unfortunately had more water issues. THe cell phones aren't working in my area, now that I am out of it, it is a little better not the best.

As I said before, I have 60 fingers and 60 toes. So guess what, I feel blessed. I have pics of my neighborhood, and it was flooded within about 1000 ft. from my house. :(
