Nick Cannon video

I saw this on another message board (christianforums.com), and thought I'd share.

Some are saying he's making a pro-life statement but others are saying that he's just telling the story of his birth.

Either way, the video had me in tears.

Wow, that was touching. It makes you want to say a prayer for all those you know who may have gone through with an abortion. I know a lot of women who are regretful, but God heals all.

i thought he was very ridiculous to put his mother on front street and for her to go along with it...I thought the video was foolish :nono:

I think it's a good video. I don't think it reflects badly on his mother either, I'm pretty sure it will help a few girls out there thats struggling with that decision.

i agree. if the video is true, why would anyone tell their child they were considering having an abortion?

I was an "almost abortion". Don't ask me why my mother chose to share this with me. I believe she even went to the appointment but my aunt talked her out of it.

I know quite a few people that were supposed to be aborted babies but the mothers chose otherwise. I don't think it's in any way sick to tell your child that you chose life.

ITA!!!!!! I was watching a gospel awards show on BET about a week ago, and Israel was giving an acceptance speech in which he said that his mother was faced with either having an abortion, or being disowned from her family. And he thanked her for choosing to put her faith in God and have him even though she knew she would never be accepted back into her family. I was in tears all over the place. It was so touching.

Exactly....
and I'm sure people who were told that they might have been aborted were old enough to understand and figure it out for themselves. Especially if the parents were young.

I thought it was touching.

oh my gosh...I just got a high speed connection so I'm able to see the video.

Wow.......that video would REALLY make someone think twice about an abortion. That's real life for a WHOOOOOOOOOOOLE lotta people. Heavy stuff.

THis song was soo real to me. My dad wanted me to abort my son. I thought about it a hot minute, then I got Mad. My dad stopped helping me pay my rent and I couldn't go home soo, I was almost homeless. BUt I chose Life and God has blessed me for it.

here's the lyrics

[Talking]
Talking Ma
I know the Situation is Personal
But it something that has to be told
As I was making this beat
You was all I could think about you heard my voice

[Verse 1]
Yeah Just think Just Think
What if you could Just
Just blink your self away..
Just Just wait just pause for a second
Let me plead my case
It's the late 70's Huh
You Seventeen huh
And having me that will ruin everything huh
It's alot of angels waiting on their wings
You see me in your sleep so you cant kill your dreams
300 Dollars thats the price of living what?
Mommy I dont like this clinic
Hopefully you'll make the right decision
And dont go through with the Knife incision
But it's hard to make the right move
When you in high school
How you have to work all day and take night school
Hopping off da bus when the rain is pouring
What you want morning sickness or the sickness of mourning

[Chorus]
I'll Always Be a part of you
Trust Your Soul Know it's always true
If I Could Talk I'd Say To You
CAN I LIVE
CAN I LIVE
I'll Always Be a part of you
Trust Your Soul Know it's always true
If I Could Talk I'd Say To You
CAN I LIVE
CAN I LIVE

[Verse 2]
I am a child of the king
Ain't no need to go fear me
And I see the flowing tears so know that you hear me
When I move in your womb that's me being scary
Cause who knows what my future holds
Yo the truth be told you ain't told a soul
Yo you ain't even showing I'm just 2 months old
Through your clothes try to hide me deny me
Went up 3 sizes
Your pride got you lying saying ain't nothing but a migraine
It ain't surprising you not trying to be in Wic food lines
Your friends will look at you funny but look at you mommy
That's a life inside you look at your tummy
What is becoming ma I am Oprah bound
You can tell he's a star from the Ultrasound
Our Sprits Connected Doors Open Now
Nothing But Love And Respect Thanks For Holding Me Down She Let Me Live...

[Chorus]
I'll Always Be a part of you
Trust Your Soul Know it's always true
If I Could Talk I'd Say To You
CAN I LIVE
CAN I LIVE
I'll Always Be apart of you
Trust Your Soul Know it's always true
If I Could Talk I'd Say To You
CAN I LIVE
CAN I LIVE
[Repeat 2]

[Nick Talking]

It's uplifting foreal yall
I ain't passing no judgement
Ain't making no decisions
I am just telling ya'll my story
I love life
I love my mother for giving me life
We all need to appreciate life
A strong woman that had to make a sacrifice
Thanks for listening
Thanks for listening
Mama thanks for listening

I think parents should communicate with their children. He should know the decision and sacrifice she made in having him. I think the video and song are very deep.

I agree w/ this statement. I am a mommy of three boys, they were all "suprises." When I got pregnant w/ my first, my mom and aunt told me that I should not have him and that they would "pay for it." They grew up in the 70's. My grandma heard them say this to me and she told me, as I laid my head in her lap and she stroked my hair, "You don't let them make that decision for you." She grew up in the 1940's. I had my son.
I am open and honest w/ my boys. I feel like if they are old enough to ask, they deserve an answer.
The ironic thing is that my mom had my sister two years earlier than I had my son and she struggled w/ her decision to have her(I was 18, so you know she thought LONG AND HARD).
The video made me cry.

What is foolish about using your own personal story to help others? The woman had a decision to make and she chose life. She could be a pro-life advocate in her community for all we know.

People share their own personal stories about a lot of different aspects of their life. As long as it's meant to be uplifting I see no problem with this. A music video is an excellent way to get a message out to these young ladies.

It's life. Things happen. Let's keep it real.

The video was really touching. My eyes teared up.
