Nexxus products = Toxic????

I just read this at SouternTease's blog and then I went to the website to look for myself. Check out their ratings of Nexxus products - most of my staples are in there and rate an 8 out of 10 for toxicity I am shocked, dismayed, and really really upset.

Uh oh! I don't know what to say. I have a ton of Nexxus products. Are most products guilty of having those ingredients?

Personally, i don't use nexxus products, but i do use some biolage products - two of which were on their list and rated very high risk - good grief. I'm really disappointed, but very glad you started this thread!

Man...I'm using nexxus products because they keep and help whip my hair in shape and they worked so well this past weekend. erplexed

Knowledge is power and I appreciate the information. However, I've found several of my staples, along with some of those members who's hair care regimens are solid and we respect.

I will have to apply the principle "use in moderation." To be honest, most of us are such product junkies, we never use one product long enough to have long term effects anyway

Just trying to make the mood a little lighter. Here are a few of our favs and not giving up any time soon:

• Suave Humectant = 4
• Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Hair Treatment = 5
• Neutrogena Triple Moisture Serum = 5 or 6
• Most of Carols Daughters products were = 4 or 5
• herbal essences hello hydration, dangerously straight and others (LTH is too new, but will probably be there next year ) = 5
• patene relaxed and natural conditioner and MASK = 5
• Aubrey Organics Conditioner = 2 or 3
• giovanni 50/50, leave in, etc = 3-5

See my point. Even our 'natural' lines were on the list. A lower rating, but they should not have been there at all??:scratchch

I was going to try Nexxus but couldn't make myself pay their price.

I'm glad that Pantene and Suave have low scores.

interesting... when you click for more details it lists the ingredients and which ingredients are more hazardous. funny that SLS is only rated as 2... but of course they're gonna say it's low-risk, they put that crap in our toothpaste.

It's sad.

Anyway, at least we can now know what we're using

and make informed decisions. To be honest... I'd much

rather use something natural like fruits, nuts, seeds and berries...

if they were effective. I'm reading a few books on natural hair care...

they're interesting... the [SIZE=-1]Ayurvedic method seems promising as

the books are littered with references to the method.
