Nexxus Emergencee is it!!

Co-signing on IDareT'sHair. It's VERY concentrated. As a matter of fact it's been a year since I've BC'ed and I've had my bottle since I was relaxed. :yep:

EDTA: It depends on how much and how often you use it too. I have more hair now (uber thick) so I go through more of it.

I am experiencing breakage and have been trying to decide which reconstructor or protein treatment to use. I have aphogee 2 min and its not working. I am too scared to try the aphogee 2 step. I don't want to shell out $60 for Dudley's DRC 28 unless its and last resort. I saw nexxus emergencee in cvs but they wanted 16.99 for 3.3oz and I didn't want to pay that much for a small amt. How long does the 3.3oz bottle last?

It depends on how much conditioner each person normally uses for their whole head.

In a thread that was asking this question about conditioners in general, folks were talmbout using 8 oz of conditioner per wash  And that's folks who don't have ankle length hair. So they probably would finish it in one use. J/K

As you will see from my post in that thread, I am able to coat my APL hair with 1.5 oz of conditioner, so Emergencee lasts me quite a while. I honestly can't tell you how many uses I get out of it, because I honestly hate to make this hair journey a process that involves calculations etc. So I never know how much, how long, how many...or anything that means I have to do calculations. I just replace it whenever it runs out...but I can tell you it's after a few months coz I alternate its use with AO GPB.

Could you explain what you meant by that? How do you know when it's not working? (I'm torn between the 2 min, which I currently use, and Emergencee, which I used to use.)

I have been using the aphogee 2 min recon for over a year. It worked before, meaning it stop the breakage. I have tried clarifiying and using it and my hair is still breaking. So I don't know if my hair got use to it and it doesn't work before. Plus I notice a difference in my hair now when I use it. My hair feels more moisturize and not really strenghten. Before my hair use to feel strong but I don't get that feeling any more. I hope this help explain what I meant.

I will go out and purchase the nexxus emergencee thanks ladies. I will only need a dime size for my hair! Should last me a while. I plan to use it every 4wks.

I always wanted to try that, but can't find it in here in Canada. I may need to bite the bullet and buy it online.

yep bite the bullet!! lol.. I am 4a relaxed and have no complaints. I also follow the directions after I let it dry on my hair. I shampoo and condition my hair as usual. Your hair will thank you, good stuff.

Just to add my experience :-) I have started to use nexxus products and I find emergencee is brilliant for my thick course dense hair. I can use hard proteins ( the ones that resemble egg whites) weekly and my hair loves it. The Reconstructor by nexxus organic range is good, but not as good as the emergencee for me. I bought aloxxi which is the salon version it is about 20.00 on amazon at the mo for 500ml. Very good value. I bought the bigger one due to dense hair that takes a lot of product. Use heat, other than that follow the instructions.

Hope this helps

Not all Hard-Core Proteins will leave your hair Hard and crunchy that is not the determining factor when determining how strong a protein is.

I use Aphogee 2 step, 2 minute and DRC-28 (common factor is 2 :giggle:)

DRC is stronger than all of them and my hair feels so SOFT and smooth.

Nexxus Emergencee leaves my hair smooth as well and soft.

I would consider Nexxus moderate more than heavy.

Yet it would be Heavy for a head that doesn't need much .

I used to love emergencee as a relaxed head, it used to make my hair shiny and my new growth straighten easily without heat.
I got scared of this once I bc'd so I may revisit this.
