Newbie Surge Question

Ladies,

I just purchased Surge and am trying to incorporate it into my routine. :look: But it is so wet! I wear my hair smooth and dry either down in a curly flip or in a French roll most days. I have considered spraying a cotton ball first and applying that to my scalp so I don't saturate my roots and end up with wavy roots. How do you deal with applying it and still keeping a style that is not wash and go?

Sorry I can't help. When I spray it on my roots in the morning, I put my hair in bun or ponytail right after.

Same here. I just got some too, but since I joined the Newbie Challenge, I'm a "no-heat" kinda girl. I just part my hair, spray it, then put it in a bun or ponytail.

Maybe you can just use it at night and tie your hair down tight. Good luck!

Hello Royal Glory,

I've just started using SURGE PLUS 14 Hair Revitalizer in the spray bottle.

I haven't had a problem and I have been doing braidouts on relaxed, fine/thin hair. I spray the sections of scalp first thing as I roll out of bed before I do anything else (make up the bed, shower, dress, etc.) By the time I am ready to unbraid, the scalp/hair is dry. I don't oversaturate; just mist the scalp (One pump on the spray nozzle should do it!). I don't use heat either.

If your hair is thick perhaps a cotton ball soaked, lightly squeezed out and dabbed just on the scalp line could work... or pour SURGE in the cap and dip a Q-tip. Pour remainder back in the bottle.

Try and let us know.

That sounds like a good idea. I've only used surge while in braids, it's a little easier for me to do it this way
.

I put it in an applicator top and part my hair in sections and put it on my scalp. Thats what the ladies told me to do here when I asked the same question. HTH. :)

Thanks, ladies. I appreciate your input.

I am not using daily heat anymore, either accept for on wash day. That's why I was concerned about maintaining a smooth look between those times. My hair is medium/thin.

I tried the cotton ball this morning. That seemed to work okay. I like the applicator tip idea too. I'll try that. I'll also try wrapping it more snugly at night, if I am going to use the spray bottle, to keep it smooth.

Thanks again.
