Hi my hair is abt the same length as yours. I have been tracking my progress and different thing I've tried with my hair for the past 2 months.

Check out my fotki. My regimine is in my about me section and the different no heat styles are in a photo album and I also have a week to week comparison in my prgress album.

Hope that helps you out!!

First and foremost, WELCOME:grin:

I think finding a good regimen comes with trial and error but there is a post in which a lot of 4 ab relaxed ladies posted their regimens that might be good for you to look at. Also, check out some of the features of the month, they all have great regimens.

My regimen is in my fotki under the About me section. I do my hair myself except for relaxers and trims but there are lots of ladies that can give u tips on self-relaxing and trimming so you can be completely self-sufficient.

In terms of heat styling, your hair will benefit the most if you can cut out the heat for as long as possible. During this time, focus on hydrating and conditioning your hair as much as possible and doing protein treatments to give it strength. Focus on keep your ends protected through protective styles during the week.

IF you absolutely cant go without heat, try low heat styling like rollersets, wraps, flexirod sets and other styles that allow you to use indirect heat via hood dryer. Or better yet, try airdrying these styles.

Keep your hair protected at night by wrapping or using a satin bonnet or pillowcase.

Find good products that work for you. They dont have to be the most expensive or raved about on the board. Ive seen beautfiul heads that use expensive brands, inexpensive brands and stuff they got out of their kitchen:grin:

Also, focus on your diet. Drink lots of water, eat protein and lots of green veggies. Taking a hair or multi vitamin cant hurt either. Try to integrate exercising into your regimen as it will get your blood moving and stimulate hair growth.

They may seem overwhelming but if you take the time and sacrifice, you will see the rewards sooner. Think out it like your body. Lets say you wanna lose weight. If you eat a strict diet, drink water, exercise consistently, you will lose weight faster than if you just diet or just exercise.....ok, you clearly didnt ask for the sermon according to Macherieamour BUT I hope this helps!

Hi newbie,
Well I relax every 16wks/4months w/Vitale Life & Body (regular lye), and on that day I use all the steps/products that comes w/it.
I shampoo (Nexxus-old formula) and DC (w/dominican conditioners/Humectress) about every 4days. (I tried to poo once a wk since the weather is warmer but I see my hair benefits more from moisture when I do it every 4 days, I didnt' have no problem, but noticed I have to moisturize my hair more often)
I use Ego-Boost on my ends and Sedal through out my hair for my leave-in, I also use NTM= Neutragena Triple Moisture Silk Touch.
I do regular protein treatments every 6 wks w/Aphogee.
I very rarely use heat on my hair, if I do I use the Maxiglide on setting 3 along w/a little Jojoba oil and Fantascia IC hair serum as my protectant.
I Rollerset and dry under the dryer , i airdry in a bun or airdry w/hair hair out.
I trim as needed, and only finger comb my hair inbtwn wash day, on wash day I use a shower comb to detangle (Jilbere` or Annie), and I was my hair in 2 sections w/ a part down the middle. I only massage my scalp while washing leaving the hair hanging freely.
Shampoos I use Nexxus Therappe/Assure/Botanoil.
DC I use dominican Cocktail/Emergencia/Capilo/Miss Key 10 en 1/I love Silicone Mix/Greit 12 en 1/ and Humectress.
I take Solgar Biotin/Multi VHM 2000, Nature's Nutrition MSM, Ultra Thick Hair Vit., Flaxseed, EPO, and Garlic supplements (when I can remember, I need to start a personal challenge w/this one.)
HTH's.

macherieamour--great post and info!! I'm glad you went into detail. I'm at work and I couldn't get too deep, so KUDOS:)

Oh Ladies!! Thank you for your responses...if the IT people look at me any stranger I will be running out of here!! I am very addicted to LHCF.

I guess I have a late night researching. I love humectress by Nexus..I need alot of moisture..but sometimes I have problems with my day to day hair up keep. So the curling iron is my best friend. I use it about twice a week. I love rollersets. I have bought my own drying but to me it isn't hot enough. I'm under there for 2 hours!!

Thanks Ladies keep keeping me posted!:)

I hear ya. I invested in a professional dryer becuase i couldnt take it anymore. Now I dry in about 1hr and 15 mins.

Try satin rollers to maintain your curls or pincurls. This will prevent you from using the curling iron. Or you can steam them really quick with Caruso or Vidal Sassoon Steam rollers in the morning;)
