I joined about a month ago because I pride myself on having healthy hair and what better place to be. I go to my stylist at least once a week (who I've been going to since 1997) because I can't do anything to hair. I don't own any styling tools except a silk scarf, silk bonnet, comb, brush (non bristle), and hair oil. However, since being on this site I have an urge to try to start attempting styles on my hair at home but I'm a little afraid. I have been reading quite a bit and a lot of people here do their own hair and very healthy hair. Does anyone have any advice on how I can begin at least washing and trying to set my own hair or other styles that a beginner can try? I tried a few years back to set my hair, but it was a mess and frustration never allowed me to try it again. Eventually I would like to get to the relaxing my own hair as well because I see it is possible to have healthy hair maintained at home. Any tips, product suggestions, or any advice that you may have is greatly appreciated.

to LHCF, Preezie! :wave:

Pokahontas started a thread regarding how she rollersets her hair, which, is beautiful, BTW. I'll bump it for you.

Here's a link to it, also. ---> www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=82990
