Hello,

I am new to the site and there is a lot of great information. I am also very inspired by all the success stories. First of all I have no idea of what hair type I am according to Andre's definitions. (what about the type of hair for "regular" black folks?

) My hair is fine & it hangs past my shoulders--about 3 1/2 inches from the top of my bra strap. I use Affirm sensitive relaxer every 6 weeks & usually wear my hair wrapped. My goal is to grow my hair to the bottom of my bra strap--about the middle of my back. My problem is my ends get so dry and brittle--they snap off easily. Because my hair is fine I cannot use heavy oils or grease because it weighs my hair down. Any advice or suggestions?

Thanks

Welcome to the board! Have you ever thought about using a leave-in moisturizing spray. I use H-two or Pantene and they work pretty well. I don't like my hair to feel oily or weighed down and I never have that problem with these two products. I'm sure you'll get more recommendations.

Also are you using a really good moisturizing deep conditioner after you wash?

Thx!

I switch up my conditioners from week to week. Moisturizing one week and protien the next. I like Hawaiian Silky's dry hair conditioner, Nexxus Keraphix mixed with a few drops of Botanic oil, and sometimes I will use The Conditioner by Paul Mitchell. When my ends are really dry I start my shampoos off with massaging the Botanic oil on my ends for about 5-10 mins then shampoo.

Welcome!

I have fine hair as well. Try Phytologie Phyto 9. You can buy it at Sephora. It is the BEST thing I've found for fine dry hair
