New Pics Micros with Indian Remy

Here are a few pics. I will try to get better ones. But, I did these in a hurry.

Anyway, these look like just any other micros, but I wish I could describe to you how they fell with the remy hair. No tangles at all. Nice and soft and natural feeling. I have already washed them 4 or 5 times.

I used 18" Indianhairs.com remy straight double drawn in color #1 from here:

The braider used about a pack and a half for the whole job.

thanks. they can be a pain to get in - sitting for all those hours, but much more my style than the bigger braids. I have mastered how to easily remove them and care for them so I never get breakage. Even the up keep can be a pain - touch ups every 2 weeks - but worth it, I think.

Honeydew- After they finish brading your hair do they clean the braids up and make them look neat by clipping hairs that are sticking out of the braids? If not how do they clean them up?

I let the braider do it. They are good adn I hardly have any hairs sticking out. When I got in for my touchup, they touch that up, if needed as well. I notice that with the remy hair, there are less hairs sticking out. Also, I get them redone after 6 or 7 weeks and that helps, as well. Also, before these braids were put in, I did a very aggressive trim. I think that helped.

I used to think braids were carefree, but I still have to do co much to #1 keep them looking nice and #2 preventing damage to my hair.

Honey Dew your braids look wonderful. Did the braider use any thing to seal seal the braids to keep them from unraveling. What is your regimen with the indian remi hair.

She just ties a knot at the end. I am so afraid to use glue. I don't trust that they will glue it below my hair.

I don't have to maintain the remy too much. I love washing the loose part every other day or so. I use Victoria's Secret SEXY shampoo and conditioner on it and then Elasta QP mousse on it before blowdrying. I was using CON but that weighs it down too much. I wash the braided part with diluted CON and a stocking cap on to keep it neat. I do that once a week or so.

The Indian hair gets nasty with too much product so I just treat my scalp everyday to prevent itching. I love this Sulur 8 scalp treatment I found recently and my Hairever II Vitamin Tonic. I think that the fact that the cuticles are still intact with the remy prevents my hair from drying out so much. I really never have to use much product on the length of the braid. With my fingers I massage any kind of leave in cream I can grab down the length of the braid and not ont he loose part. I prefer Profectiv Root Health or any cream that will just melt and not leave any visible residue.

With any braids I get a perimeter touchup during the 3rd week in and totally redone after 6 weeks. I really want to go to 8 weeks, but my hair has been growing so fast since using tips from lhcf. I can never go past 6 weeks, which is just a bitter sweet reality.

I really do love my braids with this hair. I have used almost every human hair the BSS has and I always end up spending more time detangling it after the wash. This remy is great.

Also, I wish that I can be true to the Crown and Glory method. I just don't like the bigger ones that the crown and glory method suggest. I used to get them and have pictures in my album (I think, I can put up more if anyone wants to see), but I am not into them anymore.

They are not tight at all! I never felt any tightness. I have in the past and was concerned that these were not done tight enough, but so far non of them have slipped off or loosened. The braider told me that with this hair she did not have to pull so tight to braid it.

I got cornrows a few months ago and they were so tight I started seeing bumps. My head was hurting so bad - I am never getting cornrows again! I think I leven ost some hair around the edges from those things, too, so I understand your concern.

So after they finish braiding and tying the knot, they is nothing else done?

When I get my hair braided after everything is finished they take some scissors and snips stray hairs.

yes, they did snip stray hairs. It was way too long for me, so I had them cut it.
