needs suggestion on product to make a smooth bun

what are some good products to slick my hair up in an updo and get a smooth look. My hair does not like ecostyler gell it makes it dry. I want to start putting my hair in a bun or updo with curls on top Thankyou in advance

I use Eco styler and a scarf, but I have also had luck: with a butter and castor oil, whipped shea, kcc and others. But for bunning I like Eco the best

I have been wearing a bun with hats. Now I'm going hatless so I guess I'll be using old school Dudleys today when I get flatironed. Just grabbed that 10 year old mess from up under the cabinet. This flatiron is going to last for at least 2 weeks dagnabit.
