hi ladies. i'm currently injured with a radial head fracture (elbow injury). i have to keep the arm in a sling for 4 weeks. thankfully, it is the nondominant arm. i'm 9 weeks post and have been doing braidouts. there is no way i can braid hair with one hand. even tying a scarf requires two hands. i've been trying to limit my beauty shop use but may need to visit my beautician. any suggestions for styles that can be maintained with one hand? btw i live alone. thank you in advance!!

Hmmmm, the only style I can think of is a wrap. You can use one hand to wrap and comb it down in the morning.

What about braids? That way, you wouldn't even have to think about your hair :)

Hope you get better soon!

I think this is one of those times you need someone else.

Do you have anyone you can trust to put in some braids? Those will definitely lass 4 weeks and you could just put a bonnet on at night.

I feel your pain dr. j. I have a boxer's fracture on my dominant hand. I've been in a cast for the last 3 weeks, with 3 more weeks to go. I would suggest that you get some braids or have a close friend do your hair for you, if possible. I have a close friend that I trust with my hair. She relaxed, blow dried, and flat ironed my hair for me. I am able to wrap my hair myself and tie my scarf. Since I can't tie it very tight, I use one of those head thingys with the velcro (can't remember the name) to keep it on my head all night. I'm sorry about your elbow, I hope this will help you in some way.

I'm adding a +1 to the braids suggestion. I was in a full leg cast last summer, so cowashing was out...kinky twists were my saving grace.
