My bf just told me he is planning on coming to visit me next weekend (its a ld relationship). After the excitement was over I realized that I need to have my hair done before he gets here....furthermore it needs to last so I don't look like a bird started a nest on my head.
Any suggestions?
I need to practice it now so I can know what I am getting into.

TIA

What about twists? Also, braid outs. You could braid or flat twist your hair all week and unravel it before he gets in.

braidout or bantu knot out. the bantu knot out lasts longer for me. so try twists outs, braidouts, bantu knot outs and pick whichever lasts longer

I would try a twist out, or rod it up again, that was a really cute style on you! Or you could get it cornrowed in the front and rods in the back. Just some suggestions.

Just a word of advice, and I am sure you have heard this before. When I was transitioning, I had to get used to my hair being big and sometimes messy looking. I had to get over every hair having to be "in place" because your natural hair doesn't grow out of your head sleek and smooth. I think your transition may get easier if you focus on more textured styles and not try to wear it as you would with a fresh relaxer. I know you're not ready to BC yet, but changing your thinking may help reduce some of your hair stress :)

I think flat twists in the front with the back in a braidout would be cute. Or you could get a dominican blowout if you want it straight.

Thanks for the info. I have started to change my thinking. I cut out pictures of wild 4a looking women to inspire me. I also have one picture that will be goal to reach before I BC. At this point I just want a style that I wake up, shake and focus on my honey.
Thanks for your continued support! It means alot

I love all the suggestions, ladies. I'll post the pictures of whatever I choose to do! The plus side of it is, he is looking forward to me being natural so atleast he won't give me the "are you going to do something with your hair" look.

Just a little update.
For those of you that watch the weather, you know that the southeast is concerned about Tropical Storm Dennis. Well because of Dennis, my bf can't come to see me. :( :cry3: He is in Ja and the path the hurricane is going will block them from flying in. So....no need to worry about how long it will last because he won't be here and we may get the hurricane and who cares about hair in that situation.
Again, thanks for all the comments/suggestions!
