 I have a few question pertaining to the baggie method. I’m planning on cowashing my hair today and would like to try the baggie method for a few months. My ends would love me for it….. My first question, when you do the baggie method are you allowing your hair to air dry first then applying the baggie method or are you doing this while your hair is still wet? I only ask, cause I was under the impression that it was not good on the hair to put it into a pony while wet…. Second question, while in the baggie method how often are you cowashing your hair? Are you wearing the baggie method for more then one day in other words are you taking the baggie out of the hair in the evening and redoing it in the morning? Lastly, will brushing your hair while wet damage the hair. As you can see I really have no idea how this works :whyme: , Any and all answers to my questions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance ladies :D

I prefer to add the products and baggie hair that has been airdried. Some people don't.

I redo my hair and the baggie every AM. Some people that have really long hair don't have to take their hair down every night.

I usually CO wash at least 2X a week while baggying. Sometimes I have to use poo because of something that I used on my hair that won't rinse away with conditioners.

Yes, brushing your hair while wet WILL damage it. That causes splits and unneccessary breakage. *Make sure you use a boar brush(men's 'wave' brush for all your brushing needs. I know the bristles are soft, but it does the trick.*

I put my hair up in a baggie while it is wet or damp, depending. If I waited for it to air dry, then I wouldn't be using the baggie much, as my hair takes HOURS to dry.

You will hear different opinions and experiences on this. Personally, I've never had a problem putting my hair up while wet...even back in the day when I relaxed my hair and did not take care of it properly. I didn't get breakage. However, I didn't wear it up tightly, nor did I always wear it up in the same way...so that could have something to do with it.

I co wash daily, then put it up in the baggie again. Sometimes I let my hair airdry for an hour or two, depending on what I am doing that day.

Lastly, will brushing your hair while wet damage the hair.

That depends. I just recently gave up combs and brushes and I fingercomb only, with conditioner and very slowly. But there are people who use brushes/combs on their wet hair with success. I guess a lot of it has to with what brush, how you use that brush and your hair type.

 I have a few
Hi There I am new to the baggie method but here is my plan:

My first question, when you do the baggie method are you allowing your hair to air dry first then applying the baggie method or are you doing this while your hair is still wet? I am doing the baggie on dry hair. I washed my hair last night and let it dry over night with two rollers in the back (Sylver's method). This am I took out the rollers and put my hair in a ponytail. Then applied my oils then put on the baggie.

Second question, while in the baggie method how often are you cowashing your hair? I plan to conditioner wash my hair ever 3 days (shampoo 1x per weekk).

Are you wearing the baggie method for more then one day in other words are you taking the baggie out of the hair in the evening and redoing it in the morning? I plan to wear baggie method Monday Thru Friday. I will wear baggie overnight as well. On weekends I wear a wash and go (but sleep in a shower cap for moisture).

will brushing your hair while wet damage the hair I would have to say yes. Brushing wet hair can be damaging. Since I am transitioning and my hair line gets really puffy I may use a baby brush if need be but usually I tied down with a silk scarf.

I have been CW and doing the baggie method with wet hair. I put the baggie over my head and then put the ponytail band **over** the baggie to avoid band breakage while wet.

As far as brushing goes, I bought a soft brush, so far, I have not had any breakage brushing with the soft brush while wet. I CW every other day, so my pony has been 85% wet or saturtated with products most of the time.

I wore my hair down a week after doing this and it was so healthy!
