i have the aphogee in my hair and it's drying...what should i do after i rinse it out? i know they recommend the balancing moisturizer, but is there any alternative or secret things y'all do?

thanx a bunch!

Make sure that you don't manipulate the hair while it is drying, it is going to get very stiff, you don't want to break the hair. Be sure to do the moisture balance step and you should be good to go.

When I did it I had to do an extra deep conditioner because my hair does not like strong proteins, see how your hair feels after the balance step and go from there.

Good luck,

Softresses

cool...i have elasta drp-11...this would be my "deep conditioning", yes?
this is my first time doing everything and i've set a schedule of sorts, but didn 't include the deep conditioning on the same day as my aphogee...

thanks, you lovely ladies!!!! much respect!

okay...so first do the balancing step anyway and then do a deep con if needed...gotcha. ;)

I personally really hate their balancing moisturizer. It makes my hair feel stripped and not conditioned at all. But if you do use it, I'd definitely suggest using a good moisturizing deep conditioner afterward. Good luck!

I rinse out the aphogee, then shampoo (roux porosity control) before moving to the moisturizing deep conditioner (NTM mask). Mix in some oils and condition w/ heat for at least 20-30 min. Good luck!

I just aphogeed yesterday!!

I have never used the balancing moisturizer, but instead I always follow up with a deep conditioner (I mix a cheapie conditioner, a store bought deep conditioner, some olive oil) slathered on my hair underneath a plastic cap underneath the dryer for about 30-40 minutes.

I think the very first time I did an aphogee treatment, I only followed up with just a regular moisturizing conditioner (didn't go under the dryer) and my hair felt really rough and was hard to handle. It felt stripped. So be sure that whatever you use, to let it penetrate your hair by using some heat too.

HTH!

HMMMMM! Maybe I should revisit Aphogee then, I always did the balancing step and hated the way my hair felt. I would follow it all up with the deep conditoner, then it would feel better I should have just left that balancing step out then!

Thanks ladies.

okay...going under the water now!!!
okay - this is what i'm gonna do - rinse, balance step, then mix the eqp dpr-11 with coconut oil and sit under the dryer for 30-40 minutes..i'll let you all know how it goes!!!!

thanx again!

I use porosity control or Wella Regenal post Aphogee, prior to deep conditioning. This eliminates tangles or dryness created by aphogee.

Good Luck

caplush and dynamic - i must try the porosity control...never heard of it (well, i've never heard of much of what i've been using as of late until coming here ;) )...but it appears to be a good step

well, i used the balancing moisturizer - it actually worked pretty good - i left it in for the 5 minutes it took to boil my pasta and rinsed it out, put in some coconut oil and the eqp drp-11...my hair feels like it does after a fresh relaxer at the salon - silky smooth...i have no idea what "SLIP" is, but i'd love to call what i'm feeling right now slip...
