I have been having scalp problems for the past few months, but when I stopped rollersetting they went away.

Now I wear my hair in twistouts almost everyday and there is absolutely no problem on my scalp...

but whenever I try to rollerset, it comes back.

In 4 spots my scalp starts getting very itchy, red and sometimes it gets weepy... After I do a twistout it magically goes away.

The only thing that's different that I do is put the rollers and clips in my hair instead of twisting it. I used to think it was because I slept on the curlers wrong, but it's not that. I think it's the clips because they are rubbing my scalp. I use double prong metal clips. Has anyone ever heard of someone being allergic to metals?

What does it sound like to you? Maybe I should try to use plastic clips in those areas, but I've never seen plastic clips in stores.

What products do you use when rollersetting? Do you think something u use for rollersetting is causing the problem? Also, are you tender-headed?

I use wgo/coconut oil/hot 6 oil, ors carrot oil/olive oil lotion, razac leave in conditioner and a little bit of s-curl.

I use the exact same things when I do twist-outs plus a hair gel and I have no irritation, so I don't think that it's the products.

I am tenderheaded... I always have been. I have extremely sensitive skin everywhere.

You know, I've never thought of this before, but I can't wear fake metal jewlery... I break out wherever it touches after a few hours. Maybe it's connected.

But why would it only be in certain spots on my scalp?

I'm exactly the same way, I can't have any fake metal touching me anywhere or my skin breaks out in a rash, I even got it once between the eyes form wearing glasses...I noticed that I would get sores on my scalp from wearing bobby pins too often in the same spot....maybe you could try some plastic clips or something.

Yeah, but I use lots of clips all over about 24, but it's only getting irritated in 4 areas.
