I'm not officially natural yet, but I love Coconut oil. I use it to twist and braid. I also like shea butter, but for now, Coconut oil works the best.

Daily Doctor (or glycerin sprays like Greg Juice or Silk Rose)
Shea Butter (and Sheabased products like Oyins, Ashas, Carol's daughter)
Glycerin/Water Mix
Coconut Oil
Aloe Vera Gel
VO5 Conditioners for CoWashes
Wild Growth Oil

These are products I repurchase regularly.

asha's mane attraction does it for me with the shine and my shrinkage is held off a lil bit longer than using any gel...

i add coconut oil to my mane attraction tho...;)

I co-sign on the shea butter. I just bought the ORS Twist and lock gel, and used it on a couple of twist. So far so good.

Duh. . .tried and true for TWISTING!

I just started using this new line called herbnlife

i purchase it locally at simply wholesome. the line has a coconut butter that is mixed with other ingredients. i used it yesterday to do some twists on my hair (after taking my braids out). worked great.

is the coconut oil thick or more thin? do you all like it because it gives shine, hold, both? what do you exactly like about it? i've never tried it and am curious about it. thanks

I always used CDHHB, but recently I've been using shea butter and I luv it. I've never used any gels or anything. Like Tiffcurl I'd like to know more about the coconut oil though.

i have some pics in my album.
I used a leave in conditioner..and then twisted with coconut oil.
make sure the ends have oil on them as well otherwise you will have some frizz or the ends..

I just recent twisted with a mixture of coconut oil, suave humectant conditioner and honey- awesome shine and softness. I wish I made note of the measurements- will try it again next time.
