Hey, I have been transitioning for about 13 months now and have about 5 inches of new growth stretched. I did a big, mini chop last week and will post some pics soon. I am loving my natural hair and I am sure you will also.

I wore braids while I transitioned. After 1 year my hair was about 2 inches below my shoulder and I had about a 1/2 inch of relaxed ends that I cut off.

I transitioned for a year about 3-4 years ago. I can't even remember how I wore my hair back then. I got a mini chop. You can see a picture of my mini chop and my natural hair in my album.

I never actually did a BC... Instead I had a few inches cut off at a time. In fact I'm sure there's still a few partially process ed hairs somewhere on my head but it's almost impossible to tell.

It'll be 2 years in May since I've put any chemicals in my hair. At the last mini-chop my hair was just below my shoulders... now I'm between the top of my shoulder blades when straightened.

My nape stretched just below shoulders... but dry it was curly at my neck. (( transitioned 18 mths ))

I wore shake n' go's primarily.... I was sooo happy to be "FREE", I just had to let my hair be FREE also!!!!!

I wore protective styles (braids, sewn in weaves) the whole time. And got trims in between the styles.
