NATURALS Who Blow Dry....How Often?

I blow dry about once a month (I straighten every 3 weeks usually). However, I use a microfiber towel & leave it one my hair for 30 min allowing most of the water to be absorbed & I use a nano dryer (FHI 2000) with John Frieda Thermal Heat Protector. It literally takes me no more than 10 min to dry my whole head (and I have a lot of strands). I haven't gotten any damage from it & it makes drying fast & easy. Air drying just does not work for me. It makes my end dry & brittle & I end up having to use more than one pass when flat ironing. However, sometimes I will sit under my hooded dryer to give my hair a break from the direct heat.

I didn't blow dry much in the past, but now I'm starting to do it with every wash. I usually blow dry on medium-high heat using grape seed oil as a heat protectant, but I joined the No Heat Summer Challenge so I'm going to switch to cool air.

Overall, I just really like my hair better when it's been blow dried. Twistouts have more definition + last longer and my buns are so big!

I would like to wear my hair blown out but here in the deep south it wont last plus im wiggin it til bsl.

I use to only airdry even when relaxed, but now I am a huge fan of blowdrying. I always use my blowdryer on the lowest setting and absorb a great amount of moisture first. I feel like my hair finishes smoother ( especially the ends ), retains more moisture, and keeps styles better when it dries faster. I don't know why this is, but I'm a fan. Plus I grew to hate wet hair. I hate walking around with it and I hate sleeping with it. Sometimes if I am super lazy I'll airdy but I'm just happier with the end result of blowdrying.
