How do you get your hairline to stay straight until your next press without using additional heat?

Thanks for the help.

I don't think it is really possible. I find myself wearing a headband when I press if my edges look poofy. Or I use gel, and then my edges don't match the rest of my hair

Or I just try really, really had not to sweat

The edges won't stay straight. But I like to use pro-styl (ampro--the brown stuff) at night with a tooth-brush, and then cover it tightly with my "do-rag" in the morning it's pretty straight and last for 2 days..

mine stay straight if after I wash, I wrap a bandana at the edges/roots; when dry I remove the bandana and they are smooth. I don't press often, so that is my main form of straightening. There are times when I do press more than once in between washings, like if I have an interview or my man calls and wants to go to dinner so I hit it with an iron to polish it off. Otherwise, I just push the edges with pressure.

Hmm. I've been using this pomade of a brand called "modern organic products.' I brush it in the edges...it also helps with the REST Of the hair if it starts to frizz. It's $$$$ though!

Ditto, PhoneyBaloney500: I either use a conditioning gel on the edges and tie them down, or spritz them with leave in and then only blow the edges. I like to use the gel more because it doesn't involve heat

I use a product by Lustrasilk called Moisture Max it's an oil moisturizing hair lotion. I put just a lil on my edges and brush with a tooth brush and then tie a scarf around my hair for about 5 mins, and then my edges are straight as can be.

Like others here, if I tie them down at night with a bandana or scarf that makes them lay flat and they're a bit straighter in the morning.

Thanks for the tips, y'all. I just drove home from out of town last night and my roots were puffy. I tied the front down tight last night and that helped a lot. I'm still going to run the hot comb through a few areas today, but I think the extra bandana will help this week.

I also just put a scarf on my head at night, and in the morning my edges are straight. For anyone who "freshens" up there press between presses, and would STRONGLY recommend that you don't. Pressing your hair when it's dirty can cause major damage. If you look really hard, there are a lot of products out there that can help you maintain your press, until you wash your hair again.

deeshortesthair--your blow out lasted one day eh? Hmm that's happened to me. Make sure you wear a hat outside at ALL TIMES (and a shower cap in the shower). I also wonder if the stylist did a good enough job too...I've had them done at certain places and it did not last at all!
