When you are totally natural I doubt you will have that problem. What type of shampoo and/or conditioner do you use? During one of my transitions the only shampoo that did a decent job of detangling both my relaxed and natural hair was Cream of Nature Detangling Shampoo. I hope you find something that works for ya!

jainygirl said:I rollerset during my transition using a half and half mixture of Elasta QP Silk and water. I used a wide tooth comb to comb through my roots and used the skinny tooth comb on the relaxed parts. Your rollersets can still come out really well with all the newgrowth.
You can check out the rollerset pic i have in my album http://public.fotki.com/jainygirl/me__my_hair_pics/rollerset.html. That is my last set before doing the big chop, i had about 11 weeks of newgrowth. As far as getting it around the roller, i just pulled the hair taut. What helped my roots to set well is that i would spritz each section as i added each roller so that the roots wouldnt be frizzy. If your roots have gotten dry while you are still setting make sure to spritz them with water before setting. HTH -- jainygirl
